MS confrence was beyond crap before the announcement. One announcement doesn't change it.

It was huge but not "OMFG 360 IS TEH AWESOMES!"

Everyone watching the conferences lost. Boring, 90% of the games we knew they were coming. Next time I will just read a summary.

Gold: Microsoft - FFXIII is big - the only surprise bombshell of the show. Netflix. The new Live is big.

Silver: Nintendo - enough to keep the momentum going, but where are the hardcore games?

Bronze: Sony - what the hell? Ok - we all knew God of War was coming. Home is still nowhere to be found - no date - no real details. The big announcement is a pre-rendered trailer of a game that is likely two years out (MAG)? It was all: look at how powerful the PS3 is. It's the same line they've been running since it was announced, and it hasn't worked. I'm mystified and disappointed by Sony here.

For me, it goes about like this:

1. Microsoft
2. Sony
3. Nintendo

My thoughts on each:

Microsft

• FFXIII - the announcement that made the internet explode, it's really hard to top that.  I'm not really looking forward to the game but you do have to admit that it's a huge announcement.
• Netflix - Pretty awesome, especially if you already have Netflix.
• Other than those, nothing too exciting.  It mainly gets the best for making the itnernet explode.

Sony

• All around good show-- they actually, you know, showed games.  Would have been the best if not for the FFXIII announcement.
  
• The rental service is cool and comparable to MS's Netflix, just depends on how you like to rent movies.
• It told me a bunch of stuff I already knew about so meh.
• How is it that no game even comes close to using 80% of the PS3's SPU's yet MAG is already pushing the PS3 to its limits?  I don't know, this just doesn't seem exciting yet and seems like they're just going for quantity over quality to me.  I seem to remember saying KZ2 was going to push the PS3 to its limits and I guess it's not even close to 80% of its power now.

Nintendo

• Animal Crossing - cool anouncement yet I don't care.  Actually, that's how I felt about most of the games.
• Really just a lackluster press event.  Easily the worst of the three
  
• Wii Music seems neat, I don't know if I would buy it.  I mainly just want to see how it works and how all the instruments are implemented.
• The motion dongle is pretty cool but we found out about it yesterday.

All were bad, but Microsoft stole the show with FF13.
Second best showing was the precision of the WiiMotionPlus, that was really great and has enormous potential.

Overall: not impressed at all.

Sony. MS had the biggest single announcement, but Sony had several great announcements including a $399 80 gig to come in Sept, MAG (huge, big, enormous world), Movie rental and downloads able to go directly to a PC and/or PSP. Uploads to the internet with game-play letting people rate your performancees. Resistance 2 trailer looked very good as well,k plus a look at several upcoming titles.

Microsoft: 7/10
Sony: 5/10
Nintendo: 5/10

None of them. All 3 had terrible keynotes.

The memorables:
Microsoft: FF13 coming to 360
Nintendo: GTA DS, Wii Music, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Motion Plus
Sony: GoW 3, Resistance PSP, PSN games, 80 gig PS3 for 400$

I am giving it to Nintendo because they had the most noteworthy announcements. While they didnt have the most to show gamewise, they showed the most new information.

Worst is Microsoft's. Besides FF13, theirs was garbage and unmemorable. It would've failed miserably without the FF13 announcement, which only hurts Sony Fanboys.
