Forums - Sony - Rate Sony's e3 Presentation

It beats nintendo's by a long shot, haven't seen Microsofts press conference though.

Ultimately the biggest news still is FF13 going multi-plat, and when you think about it it does not matter really.

At least their jokes were a bit funny, nothing more devastating than trying to make a joke and the only one laughing is you... on stage... Nintendo lady.... like three times...!!!

But in the end i'd say this e3 is somewhat dissapointing.

$400 80 gig PS3 is some nice info.

I think that the FFXIII bombshell gave MS e3, with Sony and Nintendo behind.

But it's in 80 gig 40 gig.  NO BC.

Hmmm. I'd say 3/10. Nothing at all new was announced. Aside from MAG, which looks like a HUGE Socom. Nothing special though. I was thoroughly disappointed, and have to say, Microsoft crushed them. That's very disheartening for me to admit.

There was just nothing there. The whole show was focused on how powerful the PS3 is. They've been pushing that line since they debuted the box in '05, and it has not worked. The least powerful box is killing them. People don't care.

I just don't get the approach. I thought it was not good. They are touting features for PSN coming - like logging in on your PC - that Live has had forever. It's just blah.

Resistance looks great as does LBP, but we all knew that already.

MAG is years away, and there was no gameplay footage there, so who knows what it really will be? God of War 3 is cool, but we all knew that was coming. Just sort of "meh".

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

Rule #1.) Jack Tretton can't speak in public again, ever.

Pretty bland conference. The Resistance gameplay looked kind of shitty (the gray blank expanse when you looked at the ground from the buildings was PS2-esque), but the trailer they showed later looked decent.

The LBP charts were interesting, but they still did nothing in terms of explaining what the hell the game is about to the masses.

The video service announcement was long overdue, but they're basically just matching another service Live provided over a year ago. Now Live adds the new Netflix thing, and Sony is once again behind in features.

The God of War teaser and the video of MAG (Massive Action Game? That's the name? Really?) were underwhelming. The concept of MAG is interesting, but whether it executes properly is the real issue. I'm guessing it's still quite a ways off, so we'll see how it shapes up down the road. The God of War trailer may have been the most generic thing I've ever seen. Change the model to Ryu Hayabusa and it could have been used as a teaser for Ninja Gaiden 2 at E3 2006.

Between this and the Nintendo conference, I was entirely unimpressed. Nintendo showed nothing new besides Animal Crossing and the new Motion add-on with Wii Sports Resort.

Sony's conference gave me no inspiration to rush out and get a PS3 immediately, although the 80 GB basically becoming the standard package this fall was a nice announcement.

Honestly, I think MS "won" (if you can call it that) the press conference head-to-head with nothing more than the FFXIII announcement. Neither of the other two did a whole lot to wow people in one big moment. It's too bad, because I was hoping for a bit more excitement heading into the show itself.

The dedication you show to any particular console or company is inversely proportional to the number of times you have gotten laid. If you get laid enough, even if you prefer a certain brand, you just don't give enough of a shit to argue about it on the internet.

inFamous spring 2009, $399 80GB is nice, LBP presentation was fun and MAG. Not many new things...

8/10, a good show, with good games, but no megaton.

So? I think the reason that the new 80 gig is popular not because of BC, but what it offers in terms of space and the new Dualshock 3 controller (MGS4 helped a lot as well, but there will be no bundled game with the new 80 gig). Combine this with the greatest hits collection for the PS3 (games are more affordable), now there is little reason to have BC. There will be plenty of unique PS3 software to appease anyone by then. BC is important to a degree, but with more software moving in compared to last year, BC becomes less important.

It's not like last year where good games came out every 6 months.

Sony and Nintendo tied. There were there just to be there. Microsoft clearly won with the Final Fantasy XIII announcement. If Microsoft did not announce Final Fantasy XIII, their conference would have been just as poor as the other two.

However, I do want to see the video of the Wii motion plus in action. I'm kinda hyped for that.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba
