Forums - Nintendo - Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI announced for Wii

Did you just say XI? I really enjoyed one on the PS2, but also one of the ones on PS2 was worse than the NES one.

I'll look into this one later and give you my opinion on this game.

This looks good.... and it's an awesome strategy series.

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

I have this one already and it is very addicting. I have played most in the series and I would put this one at the fifth best in the series.

Never mind, this was one of my less than enjoyable PS2 versions of ROTK. I thought X was the best followed by VII. The other ones were not as enjoyable, but since this appears to be a PS2 port, I doubt I'll be getting this one.

wow! Great news. It's like Fire Emblem. I'm a happy gamer now!

Well the trailer sure as hell made me lust for this game. I'm going to have to scope out what people have to say about the PS2 version.

Edit: Here's IGN's review of the PS2 version:

In all honestly, this isn't a game for newcomers anyway. Despite surviving for more than 10 games, the barrier to entry for the series is far higher than perhaps anything else on the PlayStation 2. That doesn't negate any of the rewards for actually sticking it out and surviving the grueling process or building up armies and managing resources like a true armchair general, but to get that sense of accomplishment, you'll have to endure an almost relentless level of tedium. If you have that kind of patience, by all means give the game a shot, but only if you have that kind of patience.

I want to know how it is like Fire Emblem.  I have played a few of the ROTK games and in those you have to help maintain cities and armies.  Train soldiers and all that jazz.  Do you actually do that in FE or are you commenting on the battle system where you have units fighting one another?
