Forums - Nintendo - Do you like Wii Motion Plus? Wii Sells out 2009!

People are complaining about the technology of Wii Motion Plus not already being in the Wiimote when it first came out. So basically Nintendo listened to the feedback on the Wiimote and improved on their own device and people are complaining. You don't always make a product perfect the first time so there's nothing wrong with improving it imo. .. .. I see a lot of people complaining about Nintendo's Presentation at E3 but Nintendo did exactly what they wanted to do, and that was go after the mainstream press. Hardcore gamers follow the internet and Nintendo has plenty of time to showcase their games to them. They emphasized fun for everyone, pushed their 3 E's slogan, and debut a new device that will make people take notice. It is pretty obvious they can release Wii Sports Resort this year but they are aiming for Spring. That's because they know Wii Fit is enough to make the Wii sell out this holiday and the extra time will give developers more time to make games for MotionPlus. Wii Sports Resort almost certainly guarantees that the Wii will sell out for 2009. .. .. You guys think The New York Times or The Washington Post will run will a story like Killzone 2 for the PS3 or FF13 for the 360? Nope they don't care about that. You could list 100 games and they probably wouldn't give much attention. Nintendo's conference had a theme and that was about disrupting the industry. About improving upon yourself so that immitators are left behind. That becomes news worthy. That is how you win E3, by winning the mainstream press. edit: For some reason I can't seperate my paragraphs.

Screw The New York Times. Just another liberal media.

don't kid yourself all media is liberal slimeattack

but OT I have to agree with the OP I think Nintendo is doing what they have been since the beginning of this generation which is cooling moving forward, improving on themselves and conquering the blue ocean, and they will continue to sell wii's ds's and games out the ass you can count on it.

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

Yes but it is read by a lot of people. How much traffic does The Washington Post get compared to Kotaku or VGChartz.

Also I'm sure Nintendo must be losing so much money from the decisions they've made over the last couple of years. They must be out of their minds. I'm sure we could all do a better job.

If I was running Nintendo, you could be sure a new Zelda would be on the way, a new Earthbound and another Mario RPG but I think you're right. Nintendo was aiming at the "real" press.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

I agree, at least in America, Wii will likely continue to sell out until at least summer 09. If Wii Sports Resort is very good or popular and other games come out next fall with similar 1:1 tech, it will sell out the rest of 09.

About Wii Motion Plus, IMHO, it will be the most important announcement of E3.  I thought 1:1 was going to be the biggest difference b/t this generation and next generation but Nintendo is bringing us 1:1 this generation and upping what has to be done next generation.

People don't realize that Nintendo is extending the life of the Wii. When it first came out people thought that it's lifespan would last maybe 4-5 years. That its only peak was when it first came out. All I see though is momentum. The Wii is the only system I see that will have continously strong sales for the first 5 years of it's lifecycle. That's all lot of profit, where as Microsoft and Sony have had to wait a couple years to make money, the Wii made money from day one.

You've got a point but don't you think the press will take notice of the lackluster response of the audiance?

It will be sell-out already in holidays
