How many idiots bought a system for one game??? That would be a better question.

Spending 600$-500$ on a system for a game that will not release before 09?

well the idea is there will always be at least one game that attracts you to a console, and in the case of final fantasy, waiting for it to realease you'll see something else you like. but the main reason you bought the system was for that one game

I guess thats the kinda idiot I am

I'm looking for something that's not found on the other console. With all the RPGs coming out on the 360 most them are not what crave for. Being a fan of the FF and MGS franchiseI bought it.

Call me an idiot but I wouldn't miss out on my favorites. Could you have predicted this happening. They denied it once, but deny it a couple more times to seal the deal then that's the company screwing you.

Anyone who bought a system for one game is a damn fool.

And there won't be a negative impact on sales in America because of the announcement. That's just silly.

FFXIII is big, but not that big to hurt PS3 sales, just that when the game comes out, the spike will be muted, across both consoles, and 360 is the JRPG king this generation.

If you were gonna buy a PS3 just for FFXIII, surely you'd wait until it was about to release, because the price will go down. If you already have one, you must have other reasons for wanting one.

Exactly why I didn't buy at launch day. Expensive price and not enough games. Just look at the PS3 library now and compare it to 2008. You'd see that it's actually improving and having more variety but mostly these are new IPs such as Uncharted, Heavenly Sword & not to mention the failure that is known as Lair. When you're talking about old franchises like MGS and FF then they're in no way comparable to Uncharted and Heavenly sword.

Now it's just MGS that's minus for the purpose I bought the PS3 for.

i did, and do i feel cheated. i could have bought an x360 instead and i could be in rpg heaven now. damn sony!

It's not Sony's fault that you bought a console for a game without even a release date.

I could easily own you, but it would be so harshly recieved by the PS3 fan mods on this site that I might actually get banned. Let me suffice it to say that there are some huge FF fans out there, and nobody buys a console for God of War and Racing Sim 5.

I'd buy a Wii for Zelda, a PS3 for final fantasy and an Xbox for Alan Wake.

What I wouldn't do is go on the internet and flame people who I don't even know because they aren't helping my cause, which is to create a plausible damage control argument to cover the megaton bomb that the PS3 recieved today because I bought the PS3 and am worried about the perception of it, since it cost so much and in the end I got ripped off, I know it, and am currently in denial. I wouldn't do that. Watch who you call an idiot, even passively.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

If I bought the damn thing to burn it in my hearth, first, it's none of your business, second, who are you to judge me.

To be quite frank, I bought my PS3 for FFXIII, MGS, and JRPGs in general. Boy, it's really delivered on those promises and lived up to the full potential and expectations we all had for it, hasn't it?

It's lie you're saying....

That's what happens when a company denies them. You can never tell. I'm just glad Konami sticked to their word.

if you buy a console for just 1 game and that over a year before release then thats really not sonys problem.

I personally guess that in the next years we will see most big 3rd party games being multiplatform, if you read how much the dev costs for the games on the hd consoles went up compared to last generation then it makes not much sense to release a big game just for one of these consoles.
i heared dev costs doubled from last generation to the hd consoles so you need a lot more sales which you get a lot easier if you go multiplatform. it also doesn't look like any of the hd consoles can really outperform the other saleswise so my prediction for the next years is that more and more 3rd party devs will go multiplatform.

And they will enjoy FFXIII early.
Only if they speak Japanese. Because it comes out in th west on the same day both PS3 and 360 version side by side.
