Forums - Microsoft - How much do you think Microsoft paid for FF 13 on the Box?

Nothing? Ur buggin'. Final Fantasy 7 dethroned Nintendo in the late 90's. You think Sony was like: "Here take it" for some free ads? Lol ok. You're kind of saying that there is no money involved when franchises go exclusive/multiplat.

a dozen red roses to all the wives and girlfriends of SE executives.

AND A BRAND NEW CAR!!!!!

Since S-E approached Microsoft, nothing. The greatest trick Bill Gates every pulled was convincing Square-Enix that he didn't exist.

Where does it say this?

I actually don't think they paid for this one.

they would have nevr have gotten it then, they have most likely paid for it

Why?  Why wouldn't SE want to maximize FF13's profit potential?

in that case why didnt konami want to maximize their profits on MGS4?

or then why don they just release it on pc and wii too

Well you need to understand that it was rumored that Sony put some $$$ on MGS4, and about a port to the PC and Wii, well the dev tools of SE are multiplatform, a port to the 360 should be less expensive (Since it is a similar system) and with great install base... a port to the Wii could be more expensive since they have to remade models, scenarios, effects, reduce some textures quality, etc in order to make a good port... that implies more money than just use their existing tools to make a 360 port with the same content and probably without any sacrififce of quality...

By me:

Made with Blender + LuxRender
"Since you can´t understand ... there is no point to taking you seriously."

*stretches arms*

This much!

Official or near-official word says $0.

But I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft somehow got Feel Plus, or another developer to help Square with the port and translation to the 360, even to secure a favorable launch date in Japan of XIII.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

If SE is already making games for 360 they are familiar with the platform porting is a lot easier here then ps2 to xbox and its a win sales wise for SE.

How many sony fans will allow this franchise to do better somewhere else????

and not buy it now???

Come on MS didnt pay for it because the exclusive content they are producing for GTA4 in a sense they paid to make it so its thier cash cow when it releases on 360

if they were getting exclusive ff13 content then I would agree they paid for that!

Ya because FF7 would have been so great on a cartridge?????? Iam mean the movie scenes alone PS was the only system capable of playing the game!

That has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Money is involved when a game goes MP. But it's not the kind of money that's involved in MS moneyhats every time. It's the kind of money a company makes like Ubisoft when Assassain's Creed debuts on the X360 and PS3 at the same time, and sells over 7 million copies worldwide.

Same thing for COD4 - launches on PS3/X360, and sells around 10m copies on those 2 systems. COD4 on just the X360 or PS3 wouldn't of made those kinds of sales.

Multiplatforming between 2 consoles is the new idea of exclusivity it seems. And Xbox 360 fans are the recipients of the goodness :)
