The recent announcement by Square-Enix that Final Fantasy XIII would remain a Playstation 3 exclusive in Japan marks the death of the Xbox 360 in the Land of the Rising Sun. Even more startling is that Square managed to announce this at Micosoft’s own press conference, only confirming Square’s commitment to the Playstation 3 brand and its desire to see the Xbox 360 flounder.

On a related note, the massive development costs for the Final Fantasy XIII project have forced Square to announce an inferior Xbox 360 port in North America and Europe. Spanning 6 DVDs, Final Fantasy XIII will release on the Xbox 360 but only because Sony doesn’t care about the franchise enough to subsidize its enormous development costs.

As always, in the end Sony wins and Microsoft loses. Tomorrow, it begins.

How do they call that commitment? Thats like cheating on your wife and then saying to yourself I'm still commited to her. A real commitment would be not to cheat. This gen Square-Enix has proven to be pro 360.

lol 6 discs, if i owned both consoles i would definetly get it on ps3, but i only own ps3 soooo = ), anyway, i hope they use the full potential of the ps3 and then just try port it to 360

I have a feeling that this thread, may be one that gets you crushed later. Oh, dont get me wrong, I like the enthusiasm, however, until we ALL know for sure about Japan exclusive, and inferior X360 port...blah....blah, we should probably wait......oh......a bit more than the DAY of announcement until final clarification is made. With the $$$$$$ that is MS, I never count anything out. FFXIII on X360 i never thought would happen AT ALL, yet here we are! I give you post 4 stars for FanBoy enthusiasm and large hairy testicular fortitude.
