My deciding factor was that it was a Nintendo console! Also the fact that I can finally install a TV in my dorm during Year 3.

If it had Nintendo's name on it. Then I was assured of:

1. Quality hardware.
2. Quality 1st/2nd party games.

Then seeing it at 2006 E3 plus the details of the VC and controls were all gravy.
