no i think he means 14k =)
I expected both Trusty Bell and Ninja Gaiden SIgma to do better .Not by much ,but something better .Around 60K for Trusty Bell and 65K for Ninja gaiden Sigma .As for the hardware numbers we must see first what those are ,8K for the X360 isnt the PS3-beater number some were expecting but its a boost all the same ,and the PS3 if it has remained exactly the same is a failure but we have to see first if it has managed to break the 10K barrier that could be a psicological win because with Folklore and other games released in the next week it could grow a bit from there .
While people bicker about the PS3 and 360, both essentially irrelevent in Japan at this time, the DSL gets a solid boost to 140k with no major title released. Both Trusty Bell and Ninja Gaiden will fall out of the top 10 next week, while games on the DS and Wii hold on to the top 10 with amazing legs. Observation Training is looking like a game that will stay in the top 10 for months pehapse. Really does it matter one bit if the PS3 and 360 are close one week?
I think the reason for the DS boost was some new colors were released.
Folksoul should do better than NGS all things considered...
Also, I expect DQ: Swords to do good but not as insanely good as some other people are predicting. It's not a real Dragon Quest game, it's a spinoff. It will start very strong and then fall in the coming weeks and then go away mostly...

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!
I dunno about DQ swords, I think it has a big casual appeal because it is accesible. We´ll see. And when I mentioned Opoona, I was trying to say it is probably a good game, but won´t move Wiis. I was using it to compare it to Folksoul. Some people think that just because a game is a JRPG it will push sales. There are already some JRPGs on PS3, and no one has moved systems.
I think we should discuss too what will happen in the end of July. PS3 may have EG5, but Wii has MarioParty8 ( which is probably as big as EG), Gundam and Dewy, with some leftover sales of DQ.
DQ Swords really is a kiddy game, although that might be part of the Wii userbase.
| RolStoppable said: Regarding DQ swords, I think most people don't know that there was already a similar game released which featured similar gameplay as the Wii game has. Unfortunately, vgchartz doesn't have this game in its database, but I doubt that it was a big seller. I don't expect DQ swords to sell well either, though certainly better than Kenshin. |
Maybe I'm wrong but I thought it was already reported that Dragon Quest swords game had over 250,000 preorders. That's what I was going by as far as how big it would be. I'm figuring we'll see 300,000 first week sales at least.
