First of all, nice sig.  I read that book to my kid like 12 times a day.

As for Netflix and the avatar thing, I just meant that I don't personally care about those two things, but it seems like a lot of other people do.  I don't use Netflix, but it seems like I'm about the only one in the world who doesn't, so I imagine some people are going to crap themselves when this becomes fully hashed out.  I don't care one way or the other on the avatars either, but a lot of other people will.

For Fallout 3, it's kind of the same thing for you.  You don't care that much about Fallout 3, but a lot of people are going retarded over it and will buy the version they think will be more complete.  The DLC for GTAIV and Fallout 3 will sell like hotcakes.

As far as the Sony comment, I just meant that MS takes a lot of heat for trying to "copy" Sony's Home concept when in fact Sony is just copying someone else.  Neither Sony or MS have been particularly innovative this gen when you compare them to what Nintendo has done.

Gears of War 2 looked incredible - easily rivals Killzone 2 for best console graphics. Netflix at no extra cost is a very nice announcement and so was the MMO-gameshow thing. Other stuff wasn't particuarly stand-out apart from FF13 of course.

Err I think you still have to have Netflix account to access their online movies. And since they hacked it a few weeks ago so you could use Netflix, may as well use it a strength and not a weakness.

OT, it was a decent showing. Started off and fed the hardcore with game after game. Then slow down and show the revamping of XBL. Using the aero glass interface for a media bar, nice. The "avatars" was mostly expected but honestly shown as better than a certain 3d world interface. The name "avatar" leaves a lot to be desired though. The casual games looked good but I felt that in some parts were weak to bring in new casuals that they want. Or they just realize that this wasn't the proper forum to show off tons of casual games (Wii I am looking at you).

I knew it was a bit odd to end the show with Yoichi Wada and the state of RPG games for the 360. And when he started to walk off the stage, I was like really odd. And then pow, there it was. Great announcement for American X360 gamers (Not so much for Japanese X360 gamers, so far) and they definately put the pressure of on PS3 as for HD gaming console. Wii doesn't have anything to worry about... So I would give them a 8 out of 10. Showed their dominance and commiment to gamers (or putting a hurt on Sony) which needed to do and proved that there is life after Halo on the 360.

I'm just saying...

7.5 out of 10..

B-

Very fun to watch and alot of things touched on with surprised.

Didn't get higher due to ripoffs and payoffs pissing me off, not evne core games announced(FF13 was the only one), no Halo Wars or Bungie thing there, and of course Duffy performed.

6/10 there was really a lack of content and trailers shown and some really bad rips of playstation like lips and that new vision camera movie game(reminds me of the old eye toy games) yes final fantasy 13 was a boost however to me this game itself is kinda getting lamer because logic tells me 2009 release in japan so the time it takes to port to 360 6 months so a late 2009 or 2010 release for states and defintley a 2010 for europe. so how much of an impact is this game going to have on mainstream audiances absoutley none, not to mention popularity of eastern rpg's are very low at the minute.

I forgot to put a reason: a large number of first party games, both casual and hardcore.

And the dashboard update... woooooooow. Also, I'm getting that movie game, I have needed a vision camera for a while.

Right before the end, I'd have given it a 3/10...but the FFXIII announcement alone puts it at 9/10 in my book.

Basically the same here.  The Final Fantasy announcement is the biggest thing they could have possibly done.
