| Shameless said: Gears of War 2 looked incredible - easily rivals Killzone 2 for best console graphics. Netflix at no extra cost is a very nice announcement and so was the MMO-gameshow thing. Other stuff wasn't particuarly stand-out apart from FF13 of course. 8/10 |
Err I think you still have to have Netflix account to access their online movies. And since they hacked it a few weeks ago so you could use Netflix, may as well use it a strength and not a weakness.
OT, it was a decent showing. Started off and fed the hardcore with game after game. Then slow down and show the revamping of XBL. Using the aero glass interface for a media bar, nice. The "avatars" was mostly expected but honestly shown as better than a certain 3d world interface. The name "avatar" leaves a lot to be desired though. The casual games looked good but I felt that in some parts were weak to bring in new casuals that they want. Or they just realize that this wasn't the proper forum to show off tons of casual games (Wii I am looking at you).
I knew it was a bit odd to end the show with Yoichi Wada and the state of RPG games for the 360. And when he started to walk off the stage, I was like really odd. And then pow, there it was. Great announcement for American X360 gamers (Not so much for Japanese X360 gamers, so far) and they definately put the pressure of on PS3 as for HD gaming console. Wii doesn't have anything to worry about... So I would give them a 8 out of 10. Showed their dominance and commiment to gamers (or putting a hurt on Sony) which needed to do and proved that there is life after Halo on the 360.
