BTW - I do agree that KH3 as a Wii exclusive would probably be a bigger Megaton announcement than non-exclusivity of FF13 in 2/3 of game markets, and almost certainly a bigger kick to Sony's tender nuts. But that's about the only one I can imagine.

Sony's only potential FF13-topping Megaton? Across the board price cut, effective next week.
Nothing can beat the FFXIII announcement - its the biggest thing in the last 3-4 years IMO. Bigger then GTA, etc.
Ignoring that, Ninty should beat the MS conference - but I think MS just scored an instant knockout (against Sony at least), with news that can't be topped.

Not even close. A price cut would boost sales, but doesn't get even close to the effect of FFXIII announcement.
Ironically, from a HARDWARE point of view the FFXIII announcement doesn't do much. Its the fanboys that feel this pain more than anything else.
Expect to see more and more games go to BOTH platforms - its the only way to counter the install base of the Wii.

I'm sorry to disagree Shams (you know I usually kiss mod-butt).
I think it is HUGE news. It means I'll probably be getting a 360.
However, at the end of the week I think the idea of non-exclusivity (while still being the single biggest piece of news, probably) won't "win" E3 for MS alone.
Nintendo is going to be packed with Nintendo-fan surprises and some casual knock outs.
Sony may have a show that is filled with cool stuff.
The larger picture: I still think Nintendo wins because they are the ones who will make the mainstream press.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
Fellow Nintendo fans, calm down (lol).
For as much as we love Legend of Zelda, let's face it, it won't be the game that will steal the show as much as the FFXIII comming to Xbox 360 announcement. The impact won't be that shocking. Note even the Nintendo +Monolith Soft's RPG (oh, I wish for that to happen).
What I think is that Nintendo's conference will be more about moving upstream. There will be a new casual or bridge game that will show off the Wiimote add-on and afew new games for the lower tier(aka casual). Then there will be games for teens, many kinds of games and ending up with mature games like Fatal Frame 4. Probably a few surprises that will make us very happy.
Nintendo's conference shall be the most balanced and overall will be the best one. Being loyal to the "games for everyone" motto. They won't steal the show with the most shocking game news, but with the biggest number of people playing Wii games :)

I don't know, there were a few other notable things mentioned (not as big as FF XXIII), so if you consider MS's press conference to be weak, then how could Nintendo's not help to be weak, as well? Assuming you're not overly biased. |
The big announcements were Netflix, Avatars (which we knew about and that copies Mii and Home), make your own movie that uses a sort of Eye Toy and a lot of gameplay demos for games we already knew would hit the stage. There weren't that much surprises apart from that big at the end. Nintendo, on the other hand, as a lot of new games to uncover because we don't know much about their upcoming releases. That's why Nintendo conference would have been better in my opinion but now that we have seen the big blast from that of Microsoft... it's a different story.
How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...
Of course Nintendo can um... "win". It will probably be hard after the killer blow Microsoft delivered, but if they announce a lot of games that we know barely about like Zelda Wii, Kid Icarus, etc., and throw in some new stuff, I will be happy.
Currently Playing: Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Super Smash Bros for Wii U

Super Mario Galaxy will pass Super Mario 64 in total sales CORRECT!
