Forums - Gaming - Spore - Now planned for FY 2009!

Kotaku posted this about Spore. I don't know what the reason is for pushing it so far, I'm wondering if it ended up being too ambitious. But it does seem odd there was so much hype for it, I think if they were having problems they would have kept quiet. Kotaku thinks it may have something to do with trying to prepare console versions. If so I don't see the problem with an early PC edition, to sort of test the waters first. I remember they launched the Movies on the PC early and due to lackluster sales they canceled the console versions.(to bad it was a great game)

Well, I'm sure you've seen the screenshots of Duke Nukem Forever that are not only 128 by 128, but also IN GAME FOOTAGE!

Slightly more serious theories (That like DNF, it's just an excuse for people to be employed for 7 years and not do any work):
1) They are having difficulty programming for medium level computers. (Will wait a couple years for better quality/dual core)
2) The game, while complete, just isn't fun and needs to be overhauled.
3) The evolution factor of the game has in fact made the game self aware. Mr. Wright just isn't sure how well his "Skynet" simulator will sell.

See Ya George.

At least following a comedians own jokes makes his death easier.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Hardcore gaming is a bubble economy blown up by Microsoft's $7 $6 billion losses.

I think it was too ambitious and high-minded. It's certainly an interesting concept, but interesting does not necessarily translate to repeatable fun.

wow i was looking forward to this game. I am wondering if this will become vaporware.

This game is turning out very very very overambitious and in endless postponement...

It's the new Duke Nukem Forever.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Or it could become the next "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl", anyway, all comparison at this point is pure speculation until we get some more info.

I am a PC gamer, and also have a NDS now, but without access to a Nintendo Wii until End of 2007.

Currently playing: Super Smash Brothers Brawl(Wii), Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer(DS), Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (DS), WiiFit(Wii)

Games Recently Beaten: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Normal; Very Hard after the next DLCs become available)

1 word: RTFA

Every time I almost forget about this game they come out with more bad news about this game. Though I secretly wish this game bad since Will Wright is one of those crazy people that hates level designers with his procedural games.
