Why does it have to have sound the ad? Like i like having my volume up listening to music while surfing and it just gets annoying after a while.

Honestly it probably means that Brett gets more money from that ad than any other.  Bottom line is that he's only keeping it there because it truly affects his bottom line.

He doesn't mind annoying the lot of you if it means gas in his tank.

Truth be told....there are two reasons many users have made the switch over to Firefox in the first place around here.

I made the switch when we were being java-hacked.  It was a terrible time when it wasn't safe to go to vgchartz and when it seemed that the only people who could go on were either on their wii or using a browser other than ie.

The other reason (and this one is more prevalant around here) is these ads.

You see...if ioi never opted to use these voice ads there probably wouldn't be nearly as many users so well versed in the knowledge of that browser/add-on combination that we are not allowed to mention for fear of being banned.  It's quite ironic, actually.
