To me it was subpar.  I mean it wasn't as bad as like.... Drakenguard... but it just wasn't there in the controls.

I happened to restart playing Genji 2 over the weekend.

It's not as bad as some reviews said. It got bad reviews mainly because of the problem with its camera angles. It takes some time to get used to it, but certainly is not "unplayable". For me, it's gameplay is a little bit hack 'n' slash but nowhere near the level of the Dynasty Warriors series.

I like this game and I think Genji 2 is one of the best looking PS3 games out there. The environments and characters look amazing. If you like the art design of Folklore, you may like Genji 2 as well 'cause both games are made by Game Republic. Genji does not have the flow and fluidity of other famous third-person action/adventure games on PS3 (Devil, Heavenly, Ninja). However, if you can find it cheap (I once saw Fry's had it for sale at $19.99), why not treat yourself some eye candy?

try it yourself, its a flipping huge game with rpg elemnets to it.

battle is a bit slower than dmc4 and ng series, but it has its own charm. grafix are top notch and still look good today, in fact it looks better than many games released now.

me personaly i didnt find anything wrong with the controls or camera. boss fights are superb and sone of the backgrounds are brethtaking.

i bought mine for £5 on ebay and is well worth it, nearly a 20hour adventure with free doanloadable costumes from psn, although the wizard of oz rip of looks a bit naf
