The difference is, Sony replaced the 60-gig with a highly inferior model, the 40-gig. The 60-gig 360 will have an advantage over the current Pro.

When Sony did the same thing last July people did not know about the 40GB.

The clearance sale didn't help the PS3 much. I'm not sure why people think it will help the 360 any more now.

The clearance doubled PS3 sales in the US and they were outselling 360 WW for a few weeks, before MS cut the price.

Umm, this myth of the discount upsets me.

When the 20gb PS3 came out it was $499. It (the 20GB) went down to $399, then the 40GB came out at $399 when the 20GB sold out.

Are memories really that short?

Oh yeah, I had a point.

The 360 20GB will go down to $299. When it sells out, the 60GB will come out at $299. I'd bet but I really need to post (it keeps me occupied at work) and I really can't think of a worse avatar.
