Forums - Sony - US and Europe getting Eternal Sonata on PS3 afterall?

"The European PLAYSTATION 3 Support site contains a list of games that have DualShock 3 compatibility. In this list, we found a few games that bring up our interests:

Alien Sports: Minigolf (Zen Studios)
Battle Fantasia (505 Games)
Burn Zombie Burn (PSN) (Doublesix )
Cinnamon Beats (Secret Exit)
codename Cops
Eternal Sonata (NBG)
Godfather 2 (EA)
Maxim Pinball (Zen Studios)
Punisher: War Zone (Zen Studios)
Underfire (PSN) (Doublesix)

Does this confirm that games such as Battle Fantasia and Eternal Sonata are at least coming to Europe (and hopefully the US)? There are some interesting unannounced games in there as well."

I hope it does :D

I'm hoping Namco will announce something at E3.

The rep that said it wasn't coming to the US said that nothing was definitive, and that there were no plans to bring it to NA at that point in time. Considering the fact that it was Namco's NA site that first leaked the ps3 version of Eternal Sonata, this was expected, at least by me.

This is easily my most coveted 360 exclusive.  I pull up the Eternal Sonata website occasionally just to listen to the music.  It's so awesome.

The game would have sold well if it was on the PS3 in the first place.  The PS3 users were and still are looking for a decent JRPG(Folklore doesn't count)

Are we assuming that since Europe might get it, US automatically might get it too?

You'd hope... I mean... the english translation will have been done so why not?

Well considering the last European exclusive I can think of was Tingle's Rosey Rupee Land, that's a pretty reasonable assumption.

I really hope this is true.  My PS3 will be coming in this week (bought off eBay) and I'd like to get that version with the extra content instead of the 360 version down the line when I buy one later this year.

LOL. Eternal Sonata is no gem. I owned it for the 360 and it's a generic paint-by-numbers JRPG with pretty graphics. The battle system seems cool at first but the last half of the game is nothing but tedium.

NA is a bigger market than Europe so it would only make sense. Also, like Kas said, the english translation would be done. If not, u can always import it.

The reason why they didn't release that game in the US is simple: Tingle is one of the least popular characters in the Zelda series
