Forums - Sony - New Killzone 2 'Objective' Gameplay HD Video

Man, makingmusic has been busy. Some of those clips are pretty damn badass.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I was unable to play fully through Killzone, I just can't do it. It's too old and has too many problems that makes it difficult for me to play it.

-I'm not seeing any graphical hitches like a very choppy frame rate and lots of pop in. Though there seems to be some minor animation problems.

-Nice death animations where the dropped weapon drops from the hand as opposed to appearing on the ground at the guy's feet.

-Scopes and ironsights!

-Good quality (sound wise) dialog and music, none of that fuzzy stuff from before.

----

So what are we waiting on to see improved?

-AI

-Story

-Gameplay

-Multiplayer

Is this the list?

I didn't make them. The lovely guys at NeoGAF did. :P

Just about every KZ2 gif I've ever seen came from gaf.

The gameplay was pretty good in the first one, aside from the framedips that made it damn near unplayable at times.

Tbh, the first one's real problems were the graphical glitches and framerate dips, as well as the dumb AI.  The graphical glitches and ESPECIALLY the framerate dips accounted for many of the first's gameplay problems.

The heavy feel of the weapons, etc. were the things that made the first game so great, and all these thinks are directly linked to the gameplay.

Also, the online multiplayer was damn good for a ps2 game.  The offline was great as well, with all it's modes and bots.  More games need bots, and I really hope the sequel keeps them around.

All in all, I think the only area in which Killzone 2 needs to improve is the AI, unless they announce some shit-tastic multiplayer modes at E3 (which is highly unlikely, given what they accomplished with the ps2 of all devices).
