Forums - Sony - If Sony gets FFVII Remake, they won't need a price cut. Agreed?

If they can officially secure a FFVII remake and be released exclusively on PS3, they won't need a price cut especially not in Japan or Europe because those are the 2 places where price is not a huge factor. Only games is a factor in Japan and Europe and if they can secure it, a price cut is not needed for a long ass time.

With all these rumours coming back of a remake for the PS3, this is vindication for putting Star Ocean 4 on 360.

They don't need a price cut this year anyway. Next spring they should go for a $50-$100 price cut in conjunction with a GoW 3 bundle that comes with GoW3, a $20 gift certicifcate of Blu-Ray movies, and costs $50 more than normal PS3. That would boost sales.

1. There will be no FFVII remake. People with a little ability to reason more than the average know why
2. JRPGs aren't as popular as you think
3. There are too many FFVII remake threads so please stop. Thanks.

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

Definitely not agreed.

Pristine, that's the stupidest thing I've heard today. Here, have a cookie.

Seriously, though, look at how many remakes SE has done already. Only an idiot would say that there will be no FF7 remake in light of that reality. And while JRPGs may not be all that popular in general, FF7 sold 10 million copies and was the game that lead the PS to its breakout success. Before FF7, the system actually sold pretty poorly. It changed the market, and that's pretty significant for a genre that you seem t othink isn't that popular.

Anyway, agreed. The game did a lot to make the PS brandname what it is today (more than any other individual game) and would do a great deal for it on a second go. It'd be a hard road to another 10 million, but done right on the PS3 it's possible and less than 8 million sales seems unlikely.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

lol. The soonest one could come out is 2011 (two years after FF XIII. I'd assume thye'd work on it after FF XIII). It wouldn't matter then.

I don't think a FF VII remake will come out this gen anyway...

Kinda like KH 3.

See, you sound a lot like this, but it's fun to hope for your favorite gaming series.

They will have to cut the price by next summer or else risk losing quite a bit of marketshare. Ideally they would cut it before the holidays, but that isn't going to happen.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

i agree
by the way i would laugh my ass off if it comes to ds

Disagree.

I don't see many people paying £400 to buy the console JUST for that game.

Agreed. would be a system seller. (I already pointed this out in another thread.

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.
