so I normally use Internet Explorer, but today it totally F*cked up.

It isn't loading at all... ( doesn't respond )

So I am on Firefox at the moment.

what could it be?

IE7? I'm using both IE7 anf FF. Sometime IE does fail to respond.

Don't use IE. IE is terrible.

You should make extensive use of the bookmarks toolbar.  Then you can just drag the icon next to the URL into whatever folder you want.
