Forums - Microsoft - Should I get an Xbox 360 next week, or play WoW and get a 360 this Xmas?

I personally would get a 360 as WOW doesnt interest me at all... but it depends on the person.

360 is still a sound investment considering how cheap older good games are. And considering that this christmas 360 has most variety it has the best coming up games as well...

because I hate WoW it would be no hard decision for me ;)

But c'mon. The choice of getting a console now and playing a single game for 2 more months ...

get a 360 you wont regret it i promise

I love my 360 and as previously states, some really really good games are cheap right now. With the $50 price cut the 360 is a choice investment.

I also play WoW, and love it too, however, unless you are planning to continue the push to 80 with the WOTLK expansion coming out in November, it is kinda a waste to play for just a few months and stop. But hey, its your life, as a Gamer, its about you!

A job... then a 360.

I think I'll get the 360, thanks guys! LeetGeek, you are probably right on both counts, but I am goin to wait on PS3 until at least next summer. PS2 has many great games I want (don't have PS2) and PS3 isn't BC except for MGS4 bundle, and I don't want MGS4, though I do have an HDTV so I am hoping next spring PS3 gets $100 price cut and BC so I can get it over the summer next summer with job money.

I can't handle MMOs during the year. Freshamn year I had a gpa of like 3, and last year I got 4.3 gpa, so obviously MMOs hurt me. I get borderline addicted to SRPGs, and I got flat out addicted to Age of Mythology... played it 4-8 hours a day during the summer, then purposely scratched the disk after a few weeks because it was too time consuming (but really really really fun)

The problem with a job is, its the middle of summer so I may not be able to find work, and I have a summer math class so I can get into advanced math next year, and I want to practice my instrument, so if I got a job on top of that, I would only have 1-3 hours of free time (depending on how much I practiced) so I would either have to paly games very little, or stop going on VG Chartz.

Forget WoW. Warhammer Online is where almost 3/4 of WOW players will migrate to. Get a 360, then when Warhammer is out get that to.

I'd go for the Xbox 360 at Christmas. The price will still be $299. But they'll likely come out with a holiday pack where they include 2 games free with the system. Additionally, while the $25 gift card is nice, you are likely to get some sort of specific store sale in Christmas where either the Xbox price is lowered to get people in the store buying games or a buy a 360 get any game of your choice free sale.

That could work out, but I want to play oblvion and blue dragon this summer while I have time. Also, last year Marvel ultimate allinace and forza where bundled, and I had only mild interest in alliance and none in forza, so that may happen again. If there is a BK/Kameo/Viva Pinata trouble in paradise/Xbox Live greatest hits bunle for $369.99 or something I'll be pretty upset though.

Also, is  the Game of the Year edition of Elder Scrolls oblivion worth the extra $30? (becuase of gift card I will have to pay $35 out of pocket instead of $5 if I get goTY edition)
