No... the industry is now movie - based games proof ...
The industry is the strongest its ever been, devellopers and publishers now have way more understanding of how the business works, I dont think 1 title could possibly destroy video gaming....
....unless they made ET 2
I got the demo because i really liked the movie...I am sorry if i have helped caused the next video game crash

Please discuss this amongst yourselves. I'm sure you guys know the rules by now. |
That has to be the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. If the gaming industry survived Superman 64, it can survive anything.

errr... Well, crashes don't follow a cycle, do they?

Well, in hindsight, I guess they don't. But then, I wasn't talking about the "Death of Atari" scenario anyways. I was actually talking about the whole problem with sucky movie-to-game adaptations which make people more and more jaded about such adaptations... It's almost as if the two just cannot translate (no dip, Sherlock, you must be thinking to yourselves; I know I am)

You may officially file this thread in the folder marked "Non-Sequitor": the composite score for the Wii version is 4.0/10 on metacritic, with 45 thumbs down. (a shame for sure, but at least I know to avoid the game like the plague; sucks that movie-to-game adaptations are still without a real winner, but there you go)

E.T. ALONE didn't cause the video game crash 25 years ago. Too many consoles to choose (more than ten, now we have 3 (not including handhelds)) and competition from Personal Computers and probably few other factors caused the crash.

Consoles now "coexist" with PCs without killing each other, there are few consoles on the market and bad games made so far are bad and no one gives a crap about this...no Video Game Crash will happen, definetly not in this or next (eight) generation.
wow this thread is funny. My interpretation of the the question was rather basic. Is this game going to be even halfway decent or will it really suck hard?
I also read that the DS version seems to score higher than the Wii, I am actually thinking of getting it. Loved the movie, but of course the game probably can't live up to the movie. Id like to see pixar actually try to make the game, like hire a game staff for it.
