the jump from halo 2 to halo 3 was not very impressive..... If you were comparing something at least say Halo 1 to Halo 3 then at least that would be a good jump.

actually it was really impressive thanks.

As we all know, Gears of War 2 will be a great game...so was Halo 3. In Halo 3, there were minor upgrades from Halo 2, i.e. graphics, few new weapons, few new maps with old ones redone, but the storyline was the same. Gears of War 2 is going down the same path as Halo 3 with the few new maps, with the remake of a couple of others, graphics pretty much stayed the same, but with better gradients, and the multiplayer only went from 8 to 10 players maximum. The game will sell a tremendous amout of software, only because its it will be over-hyped. Hell, I'm going to buy it myself, just because I like the franchise. To some things up...

Gears of War 2 will do the same thing as Halo 3 with its precessor

actually  multiple things in halo 3 were improved big time, including weapons and graphics. The graphics in halo 3 were big time improved over halo 2.

You mean, outsell every PS3 exclusive by a mile? sounds about right.

Please tell me, aside from adding new weapons, new maps, touching up the graphics and increasing the amount of players in multiplayer, what else can a sequel do?

You do realise resistance is doing the exact same thing? adding new weapons, new multiplayer maps, better graphics and increasing the amount of players in multiplayer (albeit alot more players). Only thing resistance is doing is adding a true co-op campaign, thing is though, gears was a game about a squad so co-op was naturally implemented, so singleplayer and co-op can realistically be the same.

A troll is still a troll, regardless of how much you try and hide it with your faint praises.

Halo 3 is fucking better than COD4 and Gears of War. Fuck y'all niggas.

Gears 2 will still be miles better than Halo 3. Gears of War is/was one of the best games on the 360 to this day, while Halo was instantly overshadowed by COD4.

That being said it really doesn't look like that much of a jump. I still think the game will be hella fun and will surprise a lot of people, including myself.

What? Why people compare COD4 and Halo 3?. Ok so you can compare the online, but singleplayer? I personally thought the AI in COD4 was atrocious and obviously the story was just a hash of any war that has happened in the real world in the last 10 years. Halo 3 was easily better than COD4 in singleplayer.

OT: Halo 3 looked massively better than Halo 2. Has the OP even played both?

Halo 2

Halo 3

Halo 2

Halo 3

Gears- Gears 2=/= Halo 2- Halo 3.

And even if it did, I thought Halo 3 was great. I went back and bought Halo 1 & 2 because of that game. Haters love to hate.

...But you don't own a 360, I've read your post history and come to the following conclusion:

1. Are incredibly bad at making buying decisions.

2. Your a liar.

I would never want to call you a liar  that would just be insulting, but if its 2. then I wouldn't really want to trust your opinion on anything.

You post smells of downplaying Gears 2 on purpose btw...Was that your agenda?

I remember watching my friend play through the Halo 3 single player and how I was bored out of my mind. Both playing and just watching the Gears of War single player was a blast.

Halo 3's single player campaign was nothing impressive. COD4's single player campaign was on par or better than Halo 3's.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S.
