Advanced orders for Namco Bandai Inc.'s Soul Calibur IV are higher on Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 than Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 based on pre-sale data from Amazon.com.

In the figures, Soul Calibur IV PS3 Premium Edition held the largest share of sales at 52 percent, followed by the standard edition at 20 percent.

Meanwhile, the Soul Calibur IV Xbox 360 standard edition held 18 percent of sales, while the Premium Edition yielded 10 percent of overall sales.

The $79.99 Premium Edition will include an exclusive comic/art book that is a prequel to the latest entry, a tournament kit, and a bonus redemption card that unlocks extra customization content.

In addition to new and old characters, Soulcalibur IV will include Star Wars icons Darth Vadar and Yoda as playable characters.

The final game will include a high-definition graphics, online play, and brand new gameplay modes, including Story, Arcade, Tower of Lost Souls, Training, Character Creation, and Museum modes.

Fighters on Ps360 are currently Virtua Fighter for the PS3, Dead or Alive for the 360 correct? So no.

I wouldn't be surprised if it really has higher sales on PS3 (I mean Devil May Cry also was like this) but not 2:1. I think that is the amazon effect.

SoulCalibur is a fighting game. A beat-em-up is a game like Final Fight or Double Dragon.

But yeah, I'm quite positive that VGC and NPD numbers will show a different story. If DMC4 or GTAIV on the PS3 didn't have this kind of an edge over the 360 versions, why would SoulCalibur?
