Hey, blame DTG for thinking that it's some vast american conspiracy that all character are white... as America are the puppetmasters of the world or something.

I think he's played to much Metal Gear Solid 4.

honestly I think it says a great deal that people even care what color characters, in video games are. Are we so ashamed of our past as a group of peoples that we have to scrutinize the games we play to see if we are excluding or singling peoples out.

When portal came out there was a lot of noise over the main character beng female? why does it matter, if you had not been able to see her by means of the portal would anyone have known.

Maybe to make everyone happy and avoid being mobbed by really what should be a non-issue (RE5, especialy when re4 was no problem) maybe we should allow the user to set color/gender of the main character.

 

and having been to asia, there is no stigma there to being racist if you want to call it that. they openly trash being any color even there own. will make fun of you while your with them, and any thing thats difrent from them. it was aquward at first but, after a few weeks i hardly noticed it. well out side of  "black mans tooth paste", and similar strangly named products for all colors of people

That was one of my favorite things in Gladius.  The skin color editor.  Valans and Urlan looked badass black.

So why the main characters have to be white to "cater" to white audiences? How about the Japanese that buy games like DQVIII in droves even when every single human in that game is white?

 

 

Wait a sec... Every character is White in DQVIII? They may look white to you but the characters are suspose to look Japanese, Chinese, etc. They were drawn by Akira Toriyama in the same style that he drew Dragon Ball since the early 1980s. The same style he used for Blue Dragon and Chrono Trigger. This also had nothing to do with catering to Western audiences.

Oh yeah. I play pretty much anything SRPG i can get my hands on.

Great game except for the fact that male characters were worthless in it.

Female only battles and beast only battles made any guys you had in your party a liability.

That's why you don't see asian americans in Movies. That's why blacks are rarely found inside movies. (at most 25%). I haven't seen an asian person play in the NFL. Why? I want an answer. But someones probably going to say "because asians suck at sports!".
