Me personally, I think that wii sports is a mediocre/below average game...If Ninty would have bundled another game, what would you have liked it to be? IMO SSMB!!
wii sports sells the wii not the other way around. without wii sports in the system nintendo would have never come out on top this gen.
although - bundeling a second game with the wii isn't a bad idea.
It is more of a demo of how the Wii remote works than an actual game. My personal preferences are different as far as a game I would like to have bundled with a system, but I cannot argue at all with what Nintendo did because the Wii is selling like crazy. So in short I think it was the right move by Nintendo.

It may not be a full game, or a particularly good one, but it's the killer-app of the console. This is the game everyone sees and makes them buy a Wii. SSBB is a hardcore game and it does not appeal to casual gamers. Sports is a good choice IMHO. If I had to choose another game showing off the motion controls and appealing to everyone, I'd choose Boom Blox.
Wii Sports is a necessary tech demo to sell the idea of the Wii. It does it's job and it does it well. Although, I would like if the thing also came with a demo disk featuring demos of other upcoming and already released titles. Show the Blue Ocean shmucks what else is out there.
Wii Sports was the perfect game to introduce nongamers with the Wii and expand the market. Mario Galaxy, Zelda, no other game could had done the same, so I agree with Nintendo on this one.

Also, I think at some point they'll bundle Brawl, Galaxy, or maybe Animal Crossing with the system, along with WS.
I can't think of another game that would pull in as wide an audience...
Perhaps a secondary pack featuring something like Mario Galaxy or Brawl may sell even more Wii's, who knows.

That's a fantastic idea! Demos of how to connect the Wii to internet, about WiiWare, Virtual Console, the channels would be great too.

Yeah, what he said. ^ Or Wario Ware, that game does some pretty amazing things with the Wiimote.
