Forums - Nintendo - Capcom has a secret next gen favourite title coming for Wii

Thought Spyborgs was Capcom's "or something like that" title? Think again, they're cooking up something else entirely.

Late last month, we reported that Capcom were planning a Wii title similar to Lost Planet and Bionic Commando which would be announced over the coming weeks. Shortly after our story, Capcom announced the madcap Saturday morning TV style title Spyborgs, leading us to believe that Spyborgs was indeed the mysterious "or something like that" title. How wrong we were.

Issue #25 of NGamer Magazine features a very small preview of Spyborgs, with an enigmatic quote nestled within. "There's a bullet with our name on it if we speak of their ultra top secret Wii title (a surprising take on a next-gen favourite), so we'll stick to the safer, though still intruiging, Spyborgs."

A new take on a next-gen favourite? Bionic Commando and Lost Planet are definite possibilities then. Just to get you salivating like a rabid dog over the possibilities, we hear Devil May Cry 4, Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 5 and Dead Rising have quite a fan following as well.

Interesting development indeed. Is it just me or is Capcom trying to live up to Ubisoft's promise?

Please be REWii. But please not be a light gun shooter.

This is kinda old. Like, "a week after Spyborgs was announced" old.

Well since Ubisoft isn't....

Still, I'm wondering what you guys make of this. Copy and pasted:

http://thewiire.com/news/657/1/Capcom_Studio_Head_Talks_Mature_Titles_Reusing_Engines

"When asked if the engines for Xbox 360's Lost Planet: Extreme Condition and Dead Rising would be used for projects on other platforms, Inafune stated that the engines has been optimized for multiplatform usage, but that they wouldn't work on Wii. Instead, the developer is looking to utilize the Resident Evil 4 engine for some Wii projects."

So whatever Capcom's new game is, it's likely to use an upscale version of the RE4 engine. Even better news lies two paragraphs down.

"The Wiire asked if titles like mature games like Dead Rising and Lost Planet: Extreme Condition would be suitable for Wii and if Capcom is interested in appealing to the Wii owners who desire mature titles. Inafune said all the next-generation systems will all see their share of mature projects, and that Nintendo's new attitude as of late, different from the one exuded throughout much of GameCube's lifespan, allows a better opportunity to develop mature games on Wii - Resident Evil 4 being a notable example."

Unfortunately, this still leaves me stumped. Perhaps it really is something like Resident Evil 4.5 (I doubt it)? I think this interview is also the first time he dropped a hint about Mega Man 9. Furthermore, three posts in a row!

...maybe I should just stop posting to myself. Or get a LiveJournal.

RE5 confirmed? God I hope so!

S.F. 4 is okay too.

they do have 2 untitled projects at E3, lets see what they have in E3, i am not gonna put my hopes up to avoid disapointment.
