The gamecube was great. I feel sorry for people who couldn't play all its great games.

I certainly didn't dislike my GameCube, but it was my least favoured/played console that I ever had.
FE:PoR was my favourite game for it.
I loved my GC. Got it for Melee really. We played the hell out of that game. I don't think I ever owned more than 6 games at one time. I have only bought one game since the Wii has been out and that was Gun. Hell it was worth the 5 bucks I paid for it.
Waverace was awesome too.

GC has so many amazing games, and it had best split-screen multiplayer games what I enjoyed playing with my friends. Wii games are shit when comparing to GC-games. :) |
I've had, and still have: NES, SNES, N64, GC, GBAsp, PS1, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, Wii, DS--and the GameCube is my most represented system with over 30 games. Next are my SNES and NES with about 27 games each.
For what it's worth, if you own a GameCube, these are the titles you must get:
Eternal Darkness (especially if you play late at night with ample surround sound)
Metroid Prime
Resident Evil 4
Ikaruga
Viewtiful Joe (at least the first one)
Resident Evil Remake
Resident Evil 0
Pikmin
Super Smash Bros Melee
Soul Calibur II
Star Wars: Rogue Leader
Star Wars: Rebel Strike

Don't forget, it also had the Ocarina of Time set with OoT and the OoT Master Quest, and the Legend of Zelda Collection disk (with Zelda I, II, OoT, MM). On top of all that, the Game Boy Player allowed you to play every handheld Zelda released up through the GBA on it as well. Before the Wii and DS, you could literally play every single regular Zelda game (not counting those CD-i calamities) on the GameCube (A Link to the Past having been ported to the GBA).
I can't imagine having gone through last gen without Pikmin 2. That game was out of this world (can't wait for Pikmin 3 on Wii). Plus F Zero, Smash Bros, Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime. People that didn't own a Gamecube kinda missed out.

Awesome gamecube games in my mind are:
RE4
Metal gear twin snakes
Eternal Darkness
Resident Evil 1 remake
As you can tell I like mature games...and unfortunately for the gamecube, there were more and better mature games on other systems that gen.
I had a gamecube. Didn't really have much that interested me at the time. Like the N64... a few really awesome games... but the Playstation competitor got most of my time.
Cube didn't have any strategy RPGs that weren't available on PS2 that i was aware of. Probably was one of the larger problems.
Games I really enjoyed Glaidus, Eternal Darkness, Custom Robo, Brawl and... that's it really.
Others were ok... nothing great. Future Tactics I found really fun but I have a hard time recommending to others, really it just shows how a good SRPG/Gun game could have a battle system that works. Valkrie looks to have taken the lesson of that game well.
Since then i've played Killer 7 which ruled.

Gamecube is my favorite console, everything about was great, the games the controller, the whole thing.
Games like Resident Evil 4, Windwaker, Sunshine, Melee, Star Fox Adventure, Battalion Wars, Rogue Squadron all epic and great.

Fire Emblem?
OT; For the first half of last generation I had a gamecube and a ps2, and while preferring the PS2 I thought the gamcube was an excellent console. After that I got into PC gaming and neglected both consoles. Now I play both pc and console games, and I think it is the best way to go.
