There is no homosexuality, it's just PR spin.

I either agree with this or disagree with this completely.

It's not really a "Straight of Gay" thing it's more of a percentage thing... and it's not even one percentage.

It's two percentages that deal with sex.

Someone could be 60% gay and 80% straight, for example, and mostly or just sleep with women.

Or 10% gay and 10% straight and not sleep with anyone because they're asexual.

Do I have a problem with it?

Can't say that I do. I mean the world is pretty overpopulated as it is right now. I mean maybe if this was some kind of post apocolyptic world where humanity can't survive or is less likely to unless all women are pregnant and artificial insemenation is out of the picture.

Though even then... I don't really care. Humankind is neat and all... but it's not going to be around forever. It's just statistically... really improbable.

Wat.

My post was a joke. Anyways you wrote quite an intersting response. I will further analyze it later when I'm not typing half-asleep.

Sorry for the double post guys, but I have yet to figure out how to Copy/Paste a quote to put it in my other response.

How attracted you are to women really doesn't effect how attracted you are to men.
For example... say you are a car guy... and I am not.

You love cars, Fords and Chevys. You buy a ford.

Me, I like cars. They get me where i'm going but i only like chevys, so i get one.

I've got a Chevy it's basically my only option, however you have a Ford and like both better.
Most people have at least a little "gay" in them as far as desire goes... while other people even have little to no sexuality in them at all for anything... etc.

wfz, here's how you multi-quote. I started a thread on just this topic once, and discovered many methods, and this is the one I stuck with.

You see 2 things you want to quote. In FireFox you middle click the quote button on each to open 2 new tabs. In the first new tab, you hit enter a few times, then you go to the 2nd tab, copy it. Go back to the first tab, paste the 2nd one in. Now you can write your responses separately under each quote.

Speaking of Homosexuality, I don't like the gays (from what I've seen, its only been lesbians) that - lack of a better word - turn just because its the "cool" thing to do. In my high school, I saw that alot, a girl would "turn" and not long after "revert" back to being straight.

Yeah. It was a huge problem at my school too. Most of the girls wanted the attention from guys. So they made out with...well..each other.

@lightbleeder

Yeah. Honestly, those parades really don't help people become more accepting of homosexuality. It just kind of shoves it in peoples faces. And people who are already kind of closed off to it are even more closed off to it. The idea of half naked people dancing around each other in the middle of a parade kind of promotes the idea that most gay people are promiscuous, which isn't completely true.

Wasn't there a Family Guy episode where Meg turns into a lesbian because she's accepted by those girls?

You bet your finest black suit there was. I've never heard of people doing that, but it sounds pretty hot, so I am all for it.

It happens in bars a lot.  No "turning" though... but some women who are seemingly straight do seem to make out to get attention.

Or maybe they are latent homosexuals who can finally act on their desires drunk and with above as an "excuse".

I'm no psychologist.  I've just got the on degree... and even if I was i'd need an indepth study before I could even think of drawing any complex conclusions.

@Kasz216, so do you think that we're all varying degrees of bisexuality, but there are no 100% heterosexuals, homosxuals, or asexuals?

Or are you just theorizing out loud? I guess it's possible.

They're called LUGs, Lesbians Until Graduation. They just want to fool around and experiment and pretend to be gay because it's punk rock and pisses off their parents or teachers or whatever, but then they graduate and experience the real world and see there's more to life than pretending you're something you're not.

The girls making out for men's attention thing doesn't make them gay or even bi. It is exactly that: "making out for men's attention." Although it's rarer (because homophobia is heavier for men than for women), I've seen men make out for girls' attention. I saw some girls at a party tell some guys "if you two make out we'll make out." And then one guy spent the whole night trying to get a guy to make out with him so he could see these two girls make out.

And a girl I knew said she thought the Strokes were sooooo cooool because they made out on stage when she saw them. Although they don't always admit it, straight girls like to see guys make out as much as straight guys like to see girls make out. I even had an ex-girlfriend who liked to watch gay pr0n.

Well I'll be darned....thanks. Hey wait, now I can't click underneath the second quote to type. Halp?

I'll respond to it up here then. Kasz, I know what you're trying to say, and I'm not sure whether that analogy works in this instance, either way it's interesting.

Also to reply to Rubang's last post, I know I'm 100% straight. I'm not homophobic, in fact I've slept in the same bed with some of my friends before, when space was cramped, but I never once had the inclination to do anything sexual with them. I've put sunscreen on their backs before, yadda yadda. I've never felt any attraction towards a man though. Sure I know when a guy looks good, but I'm not attracted to him sexually.

It's just a theory. I don't believe it, but I guess it's possible. Maybe you have 1% gayness and dream about it once every 5 years and don't remember it. Even the Kinsey study, which said that 100% straight folks and 100% gay folks are possible, said they're the rarest cases on the spectrum.

About the not being able to write under the 2nd quote thing... you should have both quote windows open, and under each one hit enter a few times, then in one of them select all, cut, go to the other one, go to the bottom, paste. Each one should have space to type under it. I don't know why that problem exists, but if you do that you go around it. Then you can delete any extra spaces and format it the way you want it.

I have absolutely no problem with it but I do have an issue on how in gay parades they make gay stereotypes even stronger by being flamboyant.

I think 100% heterosexuals, homosexuals and "asexuals" exist... the fact that there are asexuals that don't seem to have had any sort of trauma seem to suggest that.

it's just very, very rare to the point of where it's stupid to even have labels for and the labels should just apply to sex acts.

Not even saying that most people would sleep with someone of the same sex, but that they still have some "level" of homosexuality in them that is more recognizable when people don't have such a stigmata attached to it.

Someone may be 80% "straight" and have like a 25% "gay" rating to them for example. 25% really isn't enough to do anything except maybe look a second too long and that buff shirtless jogger.

Etc.

I mean... look at a culture like the Spartans... where it was basically expected(for men)... when you were a young man you were expected to have a "gay" relationship with a older man starting at like 12-16... then when you were an older man, you would marry a 12-16 year old woman... and when you got even older you would start having relationships with 12 year old me.

Really the perfect system for bisexual men. Men perferring to have younger lovers anwyay.

This system in a way men were always given younger lovers of both sexes.

It also used to be fairly common to my undersanding during the victorian era for married women who were perfectly straight to "get it on" with each other as something to do...

Or... for example, the old stories (no clue if they are true) about all mail boats often engaging in gay sex out at sea. Unlike Prison where there is the whole must prove dominance thing that gets in the way of it...

Eh, i'm just rambling... but i think you get what i mean.

Not everybody in the parades is being super flamboyant, but the regular folks are harder to recognize in photos and harder to remember. Also, the people who hide their gayness at work and school really overdo it at the parade to make up for lost time.

And maybe for these people the whole rest of the world is one big gross straight parade. Have you seen our magazines, billboards, and sides of buses? It's almost always naked chicks.

I agree that the stereotypes can hurt their cause, but I understand why they go nuts at the parades. And who wants to live in a world where you can't go nuts at your own parade?
