I got it last year around my birthday. Oh and I also can't wait for the next SoC. That and other sony first parties are the main reasons other than Final Fanatsy that I have a ps3.

Bought mine for FF13, FF13vs, White Knight Story and MGS4 game-wise. The Blu-Ray capabilities were also a factor. Sony adding Blu-Ray into the PS3 gave me confidence that they'd win the format war, so I had less reservations about becoming an early adopter.
