Rabbid bares arse in naked publicity stunt

Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party to feature tennis, arse-cracks.

Written by: James Cottee | 7/7/2008 9:38:31 AM
The evolution of arse. From left to right: the 70s original, Kylie Minogue, and a Raving Rabbid.

We were always under the impression that the Rabbids were asexual creatures, but the latest publicity shot from Ubisoft has turned that notion upside down.

To help demonstrate the satirical nature of the game, the still shows one of the malevolent bunny creatures lifting its (her?) hemline to reveal its (his?) fluffy white arse.

It’s a parody of a famous tennis poster from the 1970s, more recently referenced by Kylie Minogue (see above).

The idea behind Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party is that the Rabbids have invaded the world of television, playing silly buggers inside popular shows and ads. Presumably they’ll put some effort into making the game comprehensible to a global audience, instead of just being full of ads for Tintin and runny cheese.

This’ll be the third Raving Rabbids game, and Ubisoft founder, president, and CEO Yves Guillemot is stoked: “The Rayman Raving Rabbids titles have been an immense success, entertaining the world over. The inclusion of the Wii Balance Board into the game was a huge source of inspiration for our development team and I guarantee you will see the Wii Balance Board used in ways that will be surprisingly unexpected!”

The game will be coming to Wii and Nintendo DS this ‘holiday season’ — apparently they don’t have Christmas in France.
