Forums - Microsoft - Breaking News: Beautiful Katamari 360 to be a XBLA title

First came the info about a 360 version of the next Katamari game, then the info about it being 360 exclusive followed by the announcement of Namco that Katamari is coming out on PS3 thus meaning it's not a 360 exclusive and now this new information: In their hands on preview of the game, Gamespot breaks the news that it is going to be a downloadable game on XBLA and it's coming out in October.

Excerpt:

'The big, huge Katamari ball of junk just keeps on rolling, this time with a new installment called Beautiful Katamari slated to hit Xbox Live Arcade in October.'

This means it is going to be a budget title and not a full price 360 game which is a really good choice in my opinion and should help sell a lot more of the game here in the US.

Does this mean it IS exclusive? I'm lost.

It just means it's a downloadable game and it will also be that on the PS3 if it comes out on it. For now, this is exclusive to 360 in the US and exclusive to PS3 in Japan from what I am understanding.

From looking at some of the recent footage of it, it looks exactly like the second game, only with a little bit more graphical sharpness. Otherwise, it hasn't really changed at all.. which makes it a perfect candidate for release on a downloadable service instead of marketing it out on physical media. Let's hope the other two versions hit with a budget price too. As much as I liked the Katamari gameplay, if all you're going to do is rehash the same game over and over and change nothing, that doesn't warrant charging full price.

What other two versions? There is a PS3 version...

There'll most likely be a Wii version too, once they figure out what sort of control scheme to use. There was an interview talking about it not too long ago, where the guy was asked about a Wii version, and he said they'd certainly like to work on it, once they figure out the problem of how to use the controller for it. Plus, like I said in the 360 exclusivity thread, Namco would be foolish to reject the biggest market for this game (Japan) by putting it on only the 360, and the game is in no way a graphical powerhouse, so I don't see them NOT making a Wii version considering how much of the this-gen market it controls there. (Or a DS version, even.)

Alright well then, let me put it this way. If Namco doesn't, they'll be running their buisness as well as Bush runs the US...

That's nice, but it doesn't mean this is coming to Wii.

Doesn't mean it isn't either, lol! Though I can't imagine it happening. Still, god forbid anyone dream ckmlb, you act like if there's a rumor or well wishing it might actually come true.
