Forums - Gaming - Todd Holmdahl talks about 360 failure rates

It is a good thing they are showing some respect for the consumer. The problem is that this guy answer`s are basically variations of:
1) whatever. Everyone is having a great time playing the box
2) I am not allowed to answer this question

He only says that he cant comment on this or that and that most users are happy with the X360 .

In fact ,the only way of most users being unhappy would be a 51% failure rate or higher .And that would be not only disastrous but unheard of .We still dont know the failure rate ,Peter Moore is saying 3-5% and X360 fans seem to think it is higher .I know a case of some people here that from 8 friends that had the console 7 have had to send it to germany (some of them twice ) and are starting to give up on the issue .In any case even if its mere a 5% it means half a million consoles are defective ....its still a big number to say the truth .

Thread title is a little misleading, he actually doesn't talk about failure rates. O_o

He addresses them by saying "the consumer is happy with the box".

Funny. Very un-informative.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

This should become an inside joke. Any time someone makes some obvious point thats backed by strong evidence, I'm going to reply: "You're wrong.  The vast majority of the people love the box."

I see two explainations to why some have multiple breakdowns while others have none. Either they are very unlucky, or aren't treating their 360's very well. From what I've read, the 360 can break down from manufacturing, but other times it's just not handled properly. That does mean the 360 isn't as tolerant to mistreatment as the Wii and PS3, but how is that an exuse to not handle an expensive device properly?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

What the hell can he comment about, anything, what is the point in taking the interview and then pleading the Fifth. What a tool...

Q: How many people have been blugeoned to death with the 5 lb power brick following the failure of their XBOX360?

A: We don’t disclose the actual number.

Q: Is your XBOX360 system in fact a poorly made POS?

A: We don’t comment on that.

LOL

Hey, don't knock Microsoft Vizunary. The vast majority of the people love the box.

Q: Is the XBOX360 made in a magical factory by Oompa Loompa's?

A: We don’t talk about our production.

Q: Is it true that the new "Elite" model has fairy dust sprinkled in it to keep the failure rate low?

A: We continue to redesign the box, continue to drive costs out. We don’t talk about the specifics of it.

What does it matters the consumers are happy with the box.
