Forums - Gaming - does every game get dropped down in average by unknown sites?

The game has too much dialogue to be for everyone.

SMG, GTAIV, these games kept their high ratings because they do appeal to nearly all gamers(critics are gamers, thus the inbalance against non-gamer targeted review scores).

Claiming that sites are PS3 biased, or they are just doing it to get hits...is damage control.

That said, I've never bought into the average concensus. I feel the best game of this generation, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, is highly under-rated, with an average in the 7's.

Still, there are those who live by the gamerankings scores and who frequently bring those numbers up when flaming the Wii.

Those people also must admit that according to gamerankings, there are like 100 games better than MGS4, and MGS4 is only the 4th best PS3 game.

You can't cherrypick gamerankings at your whim. It's either credible or it isn't. No in-between.

Well said. This game is not for everyone. However, the people that don't like MGS are in a (relative)minority compared to the people that like or even love MGS.

EDIT:Fire Emblem is even less acessible than MGS

Finished it despite hating most of the ride simply because as a videogames writer I need to.

Mind you GTAIV didnt get that courtesy, stopped playing that one after a few hours and just checked out at certain intervals with friends who played it trough.

The team at Kojima Productions has at the very least set a new high-water mark for cinematic presentation that I wager any other videogame will be lucky to reach, let alone exceed, for the next few years.
Seriously, how can you give something an 8 after saying that.

So a crappy game with the best cinematics ever should get perfect tens?

 

No halo 3 shouldnt get perfect 10's, it wouldnt be right.

Though it got them anyway.

 

Havent finished a single one of those, all they are good for is multiplayer.
