I don't think it would have sold any better my reasoning:

For every person that refuses to buy it because of RROD there's some retard who bought a 2nd 3rd or 4th because of it. Therefore, multipule sales to single owners cancels out the people who won't buy one.

That's a very good point. It would undoubtedly have sold to more people (me being one of them), but I suspect the multiple purchases more than make up for it.

^^Well, using that logic, the attach rate for XBox 360 is the most impressive fucking thing in the world.

I don't believe it. Seriously with the current games coming out for 360 how could it have done that much better? 360 still only appeals to a relatively small group of gamers and thats why it can't sell anything like the Wii. While it isn't selling huge amounts in Europe, it's still selling much better than the xbox, it's not that easy to do. The 360 is doing better than xbox in all territories, and this time around they won't have lost so much money in the process.

For those saying that 360 would have done so much better what were you expecting? How far do you honestly think Microsoft can go with their current image?

it won'tr have been much better, but i think that it would have improved slightly, maybe affecting overall sales by 400,000, but idk, that's just my guess.

You're right about that. The userbase appears to contain an amazingly hardcore bunch of users who spend all their money on games. Last gen the PS2 had the hardcore but it also had casuals so the attach rate was lower. This gen the casuals have gone with the Wii, leaving the 360 with most of the hardcore. The result is a lower userbase with an excellent attach rate.

Retard being the key word (or at least ignorant and unwilling to ask), since the RROD warranty lasts for 3 years and the 360 hasn't been out for 3 years yet.
