Lol I'v never finished it beyond the first 2 hours or so. :p
Just got bored with it because I kept dying and the lack of savepoints and interesting locales got to me. :p

Prime 2 was good, but Prime 1 was original, and Prime 3 was innovative. I guess Echoes was just "more Metroid". Not a bad thing, but not enough to top the other two.
i love metroid prime 2 it had the best boss battles out of the 3(quadraxis) but overall i like metroid prime and prime 3 better than prime 2 all great games however
I like it, it has more of the suffocating claustrophobic feeling of the original Metroid.
Beware, I live!
I am Sinistar!
Beware, coward!
I hunger!
Roaaaaaaaaaar!
Metroid Prime 2 for me was like what Majora's Mask was to Ocarina of Time for me. It was similar in many ways but different enough to totally set it apart. I loved it. The atmosphere, the story, the difficulty (I *barely* beat the game on hard - I beat it on a fluke), everything... I thought more than any other Metroid, the feeling of isolation was best captured in Prime 2 due to how dark the atmosphere was (particularly Dark Aether). And the sound design and music was just awesome. I don't like it as much as Prime 1 (my fav game last gen by far), but it's certainly on par with Prime 3.
I liked MP2 a lot. Not as much as the first Prime, but I still enjoyed it.
MP3, though... I'm "stuck" on the first seed boss. Not because it's difficult, but because I get halfway through and I'm like, "blah...I don't even care..."
I think the major "problem's" with MP2 was that it was too challenging for players. You hear people whinge about backtracking, which is a very Metroid trait, they also whinge about ammo and being hurt outside the bubbles in Dark Aether, and let's not forget the overall toughness of bosses, some that seemed to take half an hour before they fell.
I personally loved it, it's the journey of the hero, you're pit with all these challenges before you, and pretty much get tortured but you soldier on through it. Well most people do, the weak tend to give up and sell the game. And I agree with kenology with his reference to it being the Majora's Mask of the Metroid saga. People will hate it for similarities, even more people will hate it for introducing new challenges. MM introduced limited time which some people couldn't stand, MP2 introduced limited ammo and limited movement in darkworld.
By the way, I think Soleron's response was pretty meh, any game can be simpled down and made to look "repetitive". Brown, purple, grey, OMG! Travesty! :P

I own it, but havent gotten around to it yet, however I loved both Metroid Prime and Corruption.
MP2 was a bit tougher than MP1, but the reason I didn't really like it was because it felt uninspired compared to the first one. I can play MP1 again and still get enjoyment out of it, but if I play 2, I feel like it's a chore to play.
