Forums - Sony - MGS4: The best game I've ever played.

uhhh I doubt it.

1. Crysis on High settings brutalizes MGS4 on graphics. And Crysis has a cinematic feel throughout almost the entire gameplay, while according to everyone MGS4 can only be cinematic on cutscenes....

2. I can't debate this, since I have not touched the game yet.

3. Abuse of cutscenes = BAD! Kojima needs to get a grip on things, or he should just make movies.

4. FF6's story is not even in the top 20 best videogame stories of alltime, though I do agree it has probably the best story of a jrpg.

5. uhhh, MGS4 is not even a shooter.

hyperbole much?

Who is everyone? Also stop trolling

2. Havent played it, dont post in this thread

3. Based on who? XBOTS that attack the game? Yes

4. Based on opinion

5. You failed miserably

Good day

Id say MGS4 would make my top 10 games, but it wouldnt quite make my top 5 though, Gears of War is my current no.1 (till Gears 2)

Excellent game, but far from "best of all time". I don't think it's possible to name any one game as "best" since it's extremely difficult to factor in the technology and standards of the time compared to today. There are a lot of games that are in the top tier.

You have a point but I just want to mention that I also played all these games when they came out so I have factored in how I felt about them when I first played them. Lol yeahh I remember when I cut school to play oot the day it came out. MSG4  was even more amazing. I don't take this statement lightly.

Only one game really stands out to me as completely blowing my mind the first time I played it. That game is Mario 64. It was like a complete gaming rebirth for me. Many games have wowed me over the years and been fantastic, but for some reason Mario 64 was like a renaissance. It wasn't even the first 3-D game I played. I had owned a PS1 and a Saturn prior to that, but when I got my N64 at launch and popped in Mario 64........I just don't know what else to say. I've beaten that game over and over and over again and it's still fun. I'm really enjoying Mario Galaxy right now.

Keep this in mind when reading what I type...

I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.

This game is GOTY for me so far

I played it for a few hours right after I purchased it, but haven't picked it up since. Now I can't stop playing The World Ends With You. I guess that means I like it better...?

I completely hear that.  The first time I saw/played a demo unit of Mario 64 in a Toys 'R' Us store, my eyes about fell out of my head.

Exactly!  It's that intangible "feeling" that is going to be different for everyone.  See my post about SM64.
