Forums - Nintendo - The problems of the Wii menu...

I love my Wii! I play and download games on it all the time. Except from the obvious memory space problem that started rearing its ugly head (and the stubbornness of Nintendo regrding that issue) with the introduction of WiiWare. And the biggest problem: How unflexible the Wii Menu is. I don't expect to change skins and use Apple Themes on my Wii (even though that doen't sound as a bad idea) I just want the basic freedom to arrange the slots in the order I want,  put my games in folders and  have as many menu slots as I like in case I turn mad and want to download every game on the VC.

What's your problems?

What's your problems?

You mean channels? If so you could already do that.

You can arrange the channels in any order you want. Just hold down A + B while holding your cursor over a channel and you can drag it.

Also, the only way you can max out the current number of channels, or so I hear, is if you download all NES games. Unless Nintendo comes out with a Wii storage solution, the current number is just fine.

Edit: What do you mean by putting your games in "folders"?

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Yeah, when the Wii first came out I thought there was a Virtual Console Channel, to keep all the games together.

My only problem at all is storage, I have only 2 WiiWare games, only 89 blocks left, and I really want LostWinds.
We might be cutting off internet soon so I want to hold as many WiiWare games as I can.

But, this is Nintendo's first time doing something like this, nextgen's UI will be better.

I own all of lastgen systems as of October 2008. (Finally got a Dreamcast)

I own every currentgen system except PS3.

I mean having a folder with N64 games, a folder with NES games and so on, so I can keep everything arranged.

I didn't know that I could drag and drop in the menu. I guess I'm getting old and start missing out on things...

You can save the games in a SD card until Nintendo releases a good storage solution.

Exactly.  I don't want each and every single game I download to have its own channel.  Infact I don't want to have to scroll past the 1st two pages of the Menu.  For that reason I would very much prefer to be able to arrange downloaded games in the way I like.  E.g. one channel for Wii Ware games, 1 channel for Mario games, 1 for Street fighter games, 1 for NES games, etc.

???? The Xbox 360 has 5 blades to scroll through. The PS3 XMB has so many cluttered features that I haven't seen them all yet. The Wii is the simplest to navigate.

Just arrange your channels in an order that you like, and use the + - buttons.
