Advantages for PS3 over 360:

- Larger library of exclusive games

- Currently selling more so has better potential for future exclusives

- Less chance of a hardware failure

- Blu-ray compatible

- Has greater theoretical computing power

- Larger hard-drives so more downloadable content can be used

- Free online gaming

Advantages for 360 over PS3:

- Cheaper

- Smaller

- Uses less power

- Larger library of all games

- Live still has more features than PSN (Achievements are a more robust system)

- Has greater practical computing power at present

- Larger install base so immediately upcoming games will likely be better on the 360 than on the PS3

- DirectX and .NET (XNA) support means there is likely to be more crossover with PC titles

- Windows tie-in means more compatibility with proprietary systems like Windows Media Center

Um...I can't really speak for the 360, as I don't own one, but for the ps3:

Advantages:

• Sony's excellent 1st and 2nd party developers, including Naughty Dog, Team ICO, Sony Santa Monica (all 1st), Insomniac, Sucker Punch (both 2nd), among many others
• free online
• Blu-Ray
• reliable hardware

Disadvantages:

• some games have annoyingly large installs

Well you'd have to imagine with there being no buildup as to why this is being asked, and since this can be found all over the internet and because this is talked about on this site every week that this thread's main purpose is to see us all bicker over the two consoles. I say by the 37th reply we'll have some sort of argument going on in here and the OP mimicing puppet strings over his keyboard, causing him to accidently spill his Diet Dr. Pepper over his half completed Language Arts homework and dooming himself to being grounded for the weekend after turning nothing in to his teacher, Miss Levontisizle.

For achievements I would say 360 has the edge by far right now as every 360 game has them.

However it's very easy to trade games saves and gain achievements for stuff you didn't do ( which is probably a reason Microsoft never awarded anything to people with high gamerscore as it's close to impossible to know if those scores are legits or not).

Trophies are lagging behind on PS3 but have the potential to not be so easy to hack so we can always hope that at some point Sony decide to reward players with high trophies count ( something like free downloadables arcade games make sense..)

You can turn 360 degrees and walk away with the Xbox360. You can't do that with PS3.
