That is alright, he can find a nice time without women. I mean he has that option.

Agreed. Not only will he carry the scar for the rest of his life and suffer for it, he's also branded in eyes of everyone that sees the scar. Having that kind of mental stress thrust upon you is ludicrous, even if there was some moral justification in punishing him.
I don't really see more than two ways out for that guy: Either he finds the inner strength to redeem himself (which is possible, albeit unlikely IMO), or he cracks under the stress and kills someone - either himself, his wife or the person who cut him up.
Violence breeds violence.

The man was arrested, not convicted. For all any of you know he is completely innocent. Whether he did it or not, he'll never have any chance at rehabilitation. Every bit of criminal psychology evidence in existence says something like this will ostracize him from society further, making him more prone to violent outbursts, a curse for both him and those he comes near.
Anyone that thinks this was in anyway fair or reasonable needs their head checked. People are innocent until proven guilty, and purveyors of domestic violence should be dealt with (severely) by the LAW, NOT vigilantes with a hard-on for revenge.

The man didn't deserve it.
For all we know he could have just pushed the woman.
Im not ever gonna punch a woman but if they get in my face yelling at me I'll definatly push them away from me.
Wow. Some of you have a really sick bloodlust. You read an article stating a man guilty of domestic violence gets "wifebeater" carved into his chest and you're all ok with this, especially considering how the article doesn't even go into depth as to what happened to cause the domestic violence charge? It could have been any range of things from a push to a near death beating. Would it please you if this carving were somehow implemented into the law? Maybe thieves can have "Thief" carved into them, two drunken idiots that get into a bar fight can have "Assault and Battery" carved into them, a drunk driver can have "DUI" carved into them, and a person resisting arrest can have "Resisting Arrest" carved into them. Great world.
