the Metal Gear series is badly written, arrogant and self-absorbed story, no sublety and terribly convoluted. There's almost nothing to read between the lines..... I'd argue that anyone who says Metal Gear has a great story is likely not intelligent, nor mature, or atleast not able to judge the quality of a story.

You question my intelligence and maturity? Wow, it sure is on. How is the metal gear saga badly written, do you have proof? Its self absorbed because Kojima portrays themes that interest him? An artist is permitted to express himself. Nothing to read between the lines? I'd argue that you're likely of less intelligence and maturity as well.

id agree with that, although ff8 was also ace as was 10 and 12.
ff13 will beat them all, and mgs series is also good.

The cutscenes could be a little shorter but the Metal Gear Solid series still tells an intelligent and mature story.

if you don't like MGS's story, then why did you bother playing the game. MGS is an acquired taste so not everyone will like it.

It just feels so epic. I literally cannot describe how much I love the story. I really can't.
It is just so perfect and masterful. It created its own world with mysteries and surprises.
