I see Chrono Trigger, but no Earthbound. Sad ; ;

I don't really agree with most of the games, but I don't really care for the most part.

10. Metal Gear Solid PlayStation (1998) Never liked these earlier games that much
11. Halo: Combat Evolved Xbox 360 (2001) After a 14 years of gaming, this was the first console FPS that impressed me. Deserves a higher spot than Goldeneye.
12. Super Mario Galaxy Wii (2007) Excellent game
13. Final Fantasy VII PlayStation (1997) Didn't bother playing it.
14. Resident Evil 4 GameCube (2005) Awesome on the Wii so quite possibly, but too many flaws to be considered this high on a top 50 of all times list.
15. Chrono Trigger SNES (1995) Dunno.
16. Gran Turismo PlayStation (1998) Yup.
17. Sim City Macintosh and Amiga (1989) Yup.
18. Half-Life PC (1998) Deserves a top 10 placing. Its way better than goldeneye and was released only a year after.
19. Sid Meier's Civilization II PC (1996) Awesomeness, actually they all are.
20. Gears of War Xbox 360 (2006) I wouldn't say so people will forget it exists apart from the fact that it came before Gears 2 and probably 3.
21. StarCraft PC (1997) Deserves a top 10 as well. Few games have had this much impact.
22. Super Metroid SNES (1994) Dunno.
23. Deus Ex PC (2000) Cool game but didn't play much of it.
24. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 PlayStation (2000) Skating...
25. Shadow of the Colossus PS2 (2005) Dunno
26. God of War PS2 (2005) Overrated. Won't date well same reason as gears of war.
27. Soul Calibur Dreamcast (1999) Don't play them
28. BioShock Multiplatform (2007) Again, a game that has flaws doesn't deserve such a top billing. Wait for Bioshock 2 and heap the praise on that for many of the achievements of the first.
29. Final Fantasy III Famicom (1990) Fantasy.. ok.
30. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Xbox (2003) Awesome game. never finished lol.
31. Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes Dreamcast (2000) didn't play.
32. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night PlayStation (1997) Saw a little, wasn't interested.
33. Metroid Prime GameCube (2002) Dunno
34. Tomb Raider Multiplatform (1996) Awesome game, very influential. Maybe should be higher.
35. Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo PlayStation (1996) Street fighter good.
36. Star Wars: TIE Fighter PC (1995) Awesomeness is here and now.
37. Tekken 3 PlayStation (1998) Beat em up.. dunno
38. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Mul tiplatform (2007) Deserves to be MUCH higher. Few games do what they attempt as close to perfection as this one.
39. Contra NES (1988) ??
40. Okami PS2 (2006) Sweet game yep.
41. Tecmo Super Bowl NES (1991) Wat is this?
42. Wing Commander II: Vengeance of the Kilrathi PC (1991) Invented long winded cut scenes it seems. Kojima took notes I think.
43. Psychonauts Xbox (2005) Dunno
44. Silent Hill 2 PlayStation (2001) Pretty cool game, game of all time? dunno.
45. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Multiplatform (2003) They did it so well.
46. Perfect Dark N64 (2000) Didn't play.
47. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Multiplatform (2006) Replace with morrowind then make it higher.
48. WipEout PlayStation (1995) Dunno.
49. World of Warcraft PC (2004) Should be higher, much higher. Its like they're sending a message.
50. Madden NFL 2005 Multiplatform (2004) A madden game deserves to be on it doesnt it.
 


Note they have Halo: CE on the wrong system.

I want Portal on that list. Doesn't need to be number 1, but I want it on there.
Is there someway of contacting these people so I can threaten them to put it on there?

Otherwise, I agree that Super Mario 64 should be on there. It is simply too good not to be. Also it's one of the few old 3d games I can play without having to avert my eyes from the godforsaken graphics.

Lists like these are abundent, and I very seldom agree. I have no real grasp on who these people are either, so I don't really care much.

Considering some of the lists that we've seen as of late, that's not the worst. It still misses some of the "best" games (in my subjective opinion), such as Ultima Underworld, Star Control 2 and Monkey Island, to name a few. Anyhow, those lists are not worth anything, really, so I don't know why people take the time to make them... it's not like they are speding their time well, especially given that they are journalists.

These lists aren't really, "Best game of all time" they are designed to be diverse and throw respect to all directions. So while they might think that all 5 of the best games of all time are Zelda or Mario games, they could never do that, because it was skew and marginalize the list. Therefore, they choose one game to represent the series.

I don't agree with the list specially when they put galaxy and not mario 64... but different taste in video games is the most common thing on earth
