I still see this one as being false but it could have some likely hood.

And why do people always think Nintendo is making non games. Nintendo's publisher status makes 70% core gamers. 20% of gamers are core gamers. Be happy. They only supply 30% of development for 80% of the market. People have no room to complain.

Because Nintendo is about innovation, not rehashing the same IP's. I don't like to hate on any one company, but if this is true, I will have lost some faith in Nintendo. Microsoft and Sony are both churning out new IP's while Nintendo has seemed to fully embrace casual gamers and start to forget about gamers themselves by making less "real" games.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

They'll reveal "Mario Hammer" at E3. ;>

i hope this gets proven false quickly. i was looking forward to it since last E3.

"If it is truly canned, Project H.A.M.M.E.R. may have become a casualty of Wii's newfound success in the mainstream market."

WTF!!!!!!!!!!! Does nintendo think every owner of a wii wants mini games and party games?

im still hopin for disaster day of crisis too. if that gets gone too then i will start to hate nintendo those two stupid ass decisions.

my mini-rant is done.

Wii ID: 3598-1817-7961-3393. PM me if you want an add

If it wasnt for MGS4, the PS3 is unnecessary

Would Nintendo rather have 30m users who buy 10 games each - or 100m users, who buy 3 games each?

I know it's a rhetorical question, but 100million users who buy three games each. You always want the larger fan base.

*Imagines Mario dressed up like MC Hammer*... :( :( :(  Hopefully that image leaves my mind soon :(

Yeah I'm ticked off if this is true. I'm a little annoyed that we are getting so many sequals, I'm already not looking forward to next year as all we seem to be getting are sequals of games I'm entirely done with the franchise. like mario kart, animal crossing and possibly pikimin. Project HAMMER was a nice and even nessacary in my opinion mature offering. Metroid is not fully mature but their most mature title, and it's rather alone, they could have used some more titles in this vein. And they could really use more IPs.

the later in every way.  more system sale = $$$, accessories = $$$, less pricey game development, fewer games needed to reach same amount of sales, brand establishment, etc etc etc.

the Wii is an epidemic.
