I don't see why he wouldn't, these are systems going into peoples homes, games will probably be bought for them.

I think they've been included. PS3 was at 238k through April including Bravia bundles according to Sony. VGC has it 262k now. 24k in two months would seem about right for Australia.

According to this article GfK are going to track these ones:

The new promotion which is worth over $20 million will also result in Sony Computer Entertainment getting a big lift up against the Xbox and the Nintendo Wii as they will be able to count the PS3 giveaways as sales according to research group GFK. t is estimated that Sony could end up giving away 35,000 40GB PS3 consoles worth a recommended retail price of $699.

This is the second time they did it, i got one when i brought mine for my Ex-Girlfrend (Split up now and she has the tv and the ps3), i got the 46" XBR model, now i got a 44" Full HD Hitachi. :P

 

The PS3 i got now, i had to pay 750 AU for >.<

Yeah, pretty crazy idea there seeing as the 360 isn't a Blu-ray player or made by Samsung.
