Goldeneye hasn't really aged that well, especially in the graphics department.

Yeh i'd have to say Goldeneye should be a little closer to the top. It redefined the genre and I think it should be ahead of both Halo and Half-Life, which are both franchises that I love.

I know this comes up in every "best of" thread, but "best" does not mean "influential." "Best" means best. I know that Goldeneye redefined the genre, but there's been a ton of better console FPS's since.

Far Cry, Crysis and F.E.A.R are in no way good enough to make such a list imo and Halo should be replaced with its brilliant sequel instead!
And Battlefield 2142??!! Have these chaps not played the prequel which easily rivals Counterstrike as most fun multiplyer shooter to date? I feel a little ashamed on their behalf.
Bioshock is also to disappointing in my opinion to make it so high in the rankings. God help gaming journalism, next we'll be seeing GTA IV pop up in "Best games through all time" lists and the mere thought makes me shudder.

serious sam deserved to up there.

And bioshock should've been higher. (and CoD because of CoD 1)

Metroid Prime shouldn't even be on that list since it isn't a FPS, however i would rate it higher than all those games listed if it were a top 100 games of all time list personally.

I'm pretty sure they counted franchises and not just certain games in the franchise. I'm sad that Perfect Dark isn't up there.

Well, i cannot agree that Serious Sam is crappy. It was loads of fun, and just what was needed in the era of quakeish, monochrome, mono-enemy FPS-es. And the main character turned out pretty charismatic, not Duke's level, but close.
