I rather go an play with Mr Gay then actually being gay.

Did you know that it's actually possible for gay people to have kids? They still produce sperm. They can find an egg and even a surrogate mother to give birth to it.

Gayness means they don't fall in love with women. It doesn't mean that they absolutely have to die without kids.

That's fine, if you want a bastard son, and don't mind him being traumatized for life.

I don't see how that would traumatize kids for life.  It happens in several countries, and these kids come out fine.

(just to clarify my earlier post)

For any species that is not capable of reproducing asexually (ie. anything more advanced than a strawberry), it is an absolute requirement that at least a sizable portion of the population must be heterosexual for the species to survive. If this is not the case, the species would die out long before they can develop the technology for homosexual members of the species to reproduce. (for example: an all homosexual chimpanzee population would not have the capability to perform in-vitro fertilization) I'm not saying that gay people can't fall in love with members of the opposite sex, I'm just saying that being gay (attracted to members of the same sex more than, but not exclusively to the opposite sex) automatically significantly decreases your chances of successfully reproducing and thus reduces your value to the species at whole.

Bottom line: Being gay is either

1) A choice

or

2) A severe genetic defect

Gay people don't always have gay kids.  Straight people don't always have straight kids.  Whether your parents are gay or straight, you have the same chances of being gay, somewhere between 5 and 10%, depending on your source.  It doesn't have to be a gene.  It could be a natural reaction to the actual process of hormone exchange with your mother and being born.  Almost all twins have the same sexuality, whether their parents are gay or straight.

Gay people aren't what make other people gay.

Over 90% of the human race is straight (or at least has sex with the opposite sex), so you have nothing to worry about.

It's not like you have to sit down and sign a paper and choose which sex you like.  It's an unconscious decision that's made based off of what you have been exposed to in life, and whether you like male genetalia or female genetaila.

Answer me this:  Do you think that if a kid grew up in a really sheltered life, and never ever heard of a man being with a woman, and only ever saw his two fathers (or mothers) and never saw a man and a woman together, or been exposed to the notion that that was the "norm", that he'd like men or women?  I choose to believe that he would also be most comfortable in the presence of another man, and therefore choose men as his sexual preference.

It's definitely not about genitalia.  I know women who are straight, but would rather masturbate to photos of nude women instead of nude men, because they think penises look gross and breasts look great.  However, they only have sex with men and only date men and only fall in love with men, and only want to marry a man and have kids with him.  Does that make them straight or gay or bi or what?

The exposure has nothing to do with it.  Are you arguing that it's a virus spreading throughout society, and to stop it we need to hide it from kids until they're already straight and it's okay for them to see it?

So... say it's 2.  We don't stop people with genetic diseases and defects from getting married and reproducing.

There are families who keep reproducing and have kids with much worse "defects" then that.  Often times having 3-4 kids with severe can't function in societyt diseases.  No law against that.

Also considering modern technology it's not really a defect anymore since we can reproduce without having sex or being attracted to people.  Do to being able to implant eggs into 3rd party women.

Do you get the same reaction when you see a man or a woman naked? if the answer is yes, then its a choice.

Nope, not at all.

But that was decided early on in life.  Any reaction to the sex you're not related too would be negated, since you've already decided that you like sex X.  As I said, you grow accustomed to a certain thing that only one of the two genders can give you.  It's a one decision type thing.

i seriously need to know when did you make this decision, what age? I just dont remember choosing to like girls.

unconscious decision = not a decision

Futhermore,  I lol at that one. that makes no sense.

I just dont remember that day in my life when i wonder should i be straight or gay, i was always attracted to girls and i never choose that , those feelings came by themselves. Why is it so hard to see when all you been there.

I don't think that you, or me, or most people didn't have to go through that. We are decisive people, and from the start, have liked the opposite sex. But some people may be indecisive, and may not know what they like more.

when did you choose to be straight?

do you choose to be attracted to a girl or it's in you to begin with? When i see a big ass girl passing by, i dont choose to look, i look because i feel it, it's in me. The same way i dont look at guys that way, its not because i choose not to, its because i'm not attrated to guys, its simple as that.

It was an internal thing. The same thing as blinking your eyes, or using the restroom. Something that you have control over, but is regulated by your body. I believe that you have to have a sexual preference of male or female, but you can choose whether or not you like guys or not. I couldn't possibly see why anyone would choose to submit their lives to hate and scrutiny, but I do believe you do have a choice, once, early on in life to choose which way you play. Generally this decision is influenced by outside factors, such as seeing your parents kiss or something like that. Or what you see on TV.

Do you get the same reaction when you see a man or a woman naked? if the answer is yes, then its a choice.

I think he would "choose" to be with men... feel unfufilled, be depressed... and possibly "come out of the closet" later on in life.

Much how some people married with kids eventually divorce their wives and come out of the closet and get a gay lover currently.

I mean... I could right now choose to just sleep with guys left and right to prove a point... but I wouldn't be happy doing it.

I'd think th at your female friends are weird, and definitely not in the norm (nothing's wrong with that though). I happen to think that sexuality should be presented to kids as early as possible, so that they can make a judgement whether they like the same sex or not, rather than parents not bringing the subject up, since most parents don't want gay kids.

I don't think I'm arguing that it's a virus or anything like that, just arguing that you are able to make a decision to like, or not like a certain sex, but that the decision is heavily influenced by people you are around, and the information (or lack thereof) that you are given on the subject.  I personally never even knew that guys could have sex with other guys for pleasure until I was 13.  At that point, I had already discovered the wonders of the female anatomy, and grew enamored with it, and no one could tell me otherwise that I wasn't supposed to like girls.

Gay people are.

Sometimes the simplest answer is the right one.

by your explanation if you had been exposed to gay sex first, you would have been gay?

By the time I was 13 I knew I could stick my penis into any hole in the universe, so of course anuses (of either sex or any animal) were already options.  I guess you were just a late bloomer?

Anyway, so apparently some people turn out straight and some people turn out gay.  Why are you worried about having kids of a certain sexuality?  If you had a gay kid, would you stop loving them or something?

If I had been exposed to gay sex and only gay sex first, and it was the "norm" and all I've been around?  Then yes, I'd probably be gay.  If it was presented as well as being straight was presented, then it'd have been a decision that I would have had to make.
