Be careful with the GOTY Edition, there is a nasty bug with the Vampirism quest that has to do with Bloodgrass and requires you to have a saved game from the regular version in order to complete it. I do not think this is has to do with the PS3 version only, it is present in all of the GOTY editions. |
Odd. I did the vampirism quest the original version but later got the GotY one, so I never knew about this.
If all you need is a save file from the old version, then you could just download one from gamefaqs. I would rather hae a disc with all the content to save space on the HD. I loved Oblivion. My game time was 180 hours (not all active, left the game on sometimes...but I did all the guild quests and 2 expansions).
Get cheap component cables from amazon.com or somewhere. It's worth it for any TV. On SDTV, you go from 480i to 480p.
Good time to buy, there is already a really good library of games to play, and by the time you catch up the next round will have hit.
You must get the component cables- the picture is so much better with them, also change you setting to super white and full RBG on or something like that(check out some sites on the best settings, really helps the picture quality and frame rate in some games)
Must get- Uncharted, Ratchet, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Also Good- Resistance 1, Heavenly Sword, GTA4, Motorstorm, Burnout, Warkhawk, and Folklore
Also, I recommend creating an online account so you can download videos and demos ( you can also create a Japaneese account if you want to, creating a japaneese account is hard if you don't read Japaneese, but there's a walk through for this and you can get different videos and demos by doing it).
Last thing worth mentioning is that the PS3 plays Divex files (sp?), so you can watch screeners if you know where to find them.
Dude! DONT PLAY OBLIVION ON A CONSOLE!
It has fantastic mods to make it look and play twice as good as on the PS3 and you'd be selling yourself short if you play it cut down when its designed to run best on the PC. Cheaper to boot too.
I don't care what people say, if the PS3 is considered the place to play MGS4 then theres twice as many reasons to play Oblivion on the Pc instead. Edit: Playing it on the console is like playing MGS4 with the sound turned off and no subtitles.
May as well - rent RFOM1, Uncharted and Heavenly sword and buy RFOM2 when it comes out as well.
Tease.
a bit off topic but did the rest of the bundles sell out aswell?

More comfortable playing on a couch with a controller. The controls work quite well on the console because ou don't need aiming precision. PC is definitely the best experience, but the mods aren't necessary and playing on a console is still a great experience.
great buy bigjon. Let us know what you think of metal gear.

You can play it on your couch with a compatible Xbox360 controller, and there are a lot of subjective gameplay choices such as enemies leveling with you that you may not like on the consoles but you can change with the PC versions. Theres also far more replayilbility with mods and custom maps etc.
http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?t=45986&page=9 That is prettiness incarnate. I doubt there are any console games that will look as lovely in the RPG genre as these screen shots. 56k do not want btw.
Tease.
80GB is definitely the way to go. I know I wouldn't want to miss out on all those sweet PS2 games. It, like, bajilliontuples the available library of games.
