Forums - Nintendo - E3 08, Ninty's definitive/deciding event in this console war?

What future titles are Sony/MS putting out that are first party? We know there should be at least a Wii Zelda.

At the moment no Nintendo Wii games are announced. So everything is conjecture. Zelda games are normally not released in 2year rythms. They are huge and have to be developed after all. Besides a strong point of Nintendo is that they may use their Mario name for everything but they only release one iteration of their biggest franchises per generation, which keeps them stronger. So there may be a Wii Zelda game but it will take a while IMO.

The announced first-party lineup of Sony beats them hands-down:

Gran Turismo,
Socom,
Killzone2,
...

Of course Nintendo HAS games up their sleeve and some of them will be announced at E3. But at the moment their announced lineup is NIL so they need to.

At the moment they are hardly myths, the Wii's lineup is by far the worst of the three consoles. First party and especially third-party. Let's see after E3

Wait did you say first party and third party? It's fine to argue over the Wii's third party lineup but it has without a doubt the best first party lineup in the industry. What MS/Sony developed titles can compete with Nintendo's own lineup of SMG/Zelda/MK:Wii/WiiFit/etc...

Easy.  Mass effect, halo 3, gears of war, pgr,  forza, crackdown, lost odyssey. Much better than nintendos lineup.

There are announced Nintendo first party games, for example:  Wario Land, Disaster, Wii Music, Mario Sluggers, etc... Now, which line up is better depends entirely on personal tastes.  Personally I find both lineups to be fairly mediocre, but I expect more info from both Sony and Nintendo later this month.

Lolz whatever you say. Most peoples opinions including reviewers believe other wise. Especially since in gamerankings nintendo has 4 games in the top ten. More than any other developer. Namco has 2,EA and rockstar have 1(2 diffrent versions) Its your opinion though so no big deal.

LOL ok, I would say that these titles are the Nintendo equivalent of shovelware and Mario Sluggers had a whopping 60k first week in Japan but technically personal taste can trump anything. And if you want to compare them with Gran Turismo you can of course do this. Its a free country.

Well brawl, metroid and paper mario (+ who knows how many others) are not developed by nintendo either.. I guess?

Wario Land and Disaster shovleware?

Wario Land Disaster I wouldn't call shovleware seeing as its being developed by monolith, and is looking pretty good so far. The other titles are probably average 70s, but that doesn't mean its shovleware. Also they target casual and I bet casuals would have fun with them.

Um nintendo owns retro studios(formally by R&D or research and developement), paper mario is developed by intelligent systems which is a division of nintendo, and super smash bros is the only valid one since it is developed by hal laboratory's which is 2nd party. Most of the games you mentioned are 3rd party games that could go to any console. Some have exclusive plans with microsoft though.

Again though, what you describe as shovelware other people see as a great game. Disaster, Wario, and Wii Music especially are all titles that quite a few people are looking forward to. Just because Wii owners don't shout from the forums daily about their anticipated titles doesn't make them any less interesting to those people.

Its kind of arrogant to stand there and tell people that the games you like are "hands-down" better than what they like. If you think "oh these guys are just lying to themselves cause [insert reason], they just can't admit it" then you're simply falling victim to arrogance.

I can't read your mind so you'll have to decide if any of this applies to you.
