Isn't every E3 ....enter console manufactor here...'s .definitive/deciding event in this console war???

Last year, year for that, next year etc..
so no.. it will be the definitive/deciding event for all the consoles until the next E3.. or TGS or Leipzig.. etc

Even if you are talking about future lineups I still don't see how you could argue that.  What future titles are Sony/MS putting out that are first party?  We know there should be at least a Wii Zelda.  That alone could be enough to seal Nintendo's future first party status as king but there should be even more "Wii ...." titles in the vein of Wii Sports and Wii Fit.

Most of the HD console big titles aren't first party.  Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Square, Epic, and Bungie are responsible for some of the released and announced big exclusives but just because they are exclusive doesn't mean they are first-party games.

Impossible to compare lineups before E3, as we simply don't know what the companies will release.

Based on potential though, I see the lineup as this:

360 > PS3 (can be discussed, but IMO anyway the 360 lineup is a lot better than the holiday PS3 lineup)

The Wii should have the most diverse lineup, and the best year of 3rd-party Wii support. If Nintendo announce for Xmas this year:

 - Pikmin

 - Animal Crossing MMO

 - Kid Icarus

 - WiiMusic

 - WiiMotorSports (WiiWare title)

 - StarFox

 - Mario Party 9 (this is the first year without a new MP title, for the last 9 years...).

I'd be pretty happy. Add to this Red Steel II, The Conduit, various WiiFit titles (etc).

And as I said on the previous page, your analysis of which of their franchise titles have been "used up" is incorrect. The ONLY big ones "used" are Mario Kart, Brawl & Metroid - and they could use Metroid again, except with "poor sales" why would they? There almost certainly will be another 3D Mario title this generation.

I'm not painting the situation as very good right now... YOU are the one who were painting an extreme situation, saying that Wii owners will have a sad Christmas without more Nintendo games. I merely replied to you saying that (and I quote):

Not at all... E3 06 was just the beginning. No one expect the Wii even me to sell after E3 06. But it did, no one really expect E3 07 to be defintive/deciding in E3 07 either, because everyone knews what they expecting to see. Even the Mario kart wii one not including SMG and Metroid. This E3 Ninty was too secretive what about they store we always guess what they offer. Wii fans sure theres something megaton awaits us at E3 tjhats why Ninty was secretive about it...

I don't really see how someone can compare lineups when Nintendo hasn't even announced their own yet. Seems a bit silly tad bit desperate when we're like 2 weeks away from E3.

It's also futile to use the Gamecube to predict future games seeing that Wario Land came out of no where and games like Wii Fit have no past ties.

I also don't see the point of posting what Kyros did at this moment but hey, if we all understood each other life would be pretty boring.

Atleast we have continous discussion going around. And for Wii bashers out there, wait for E3...

Yep. The "definitive" E3 for the Wii was 2006, when people lined up for hours to do a little waggle. Last year furthered the distance by unveiling WiiFit and ensuring spots on Ellen, GMA, etc. This year will surely push the matter further, but the decision has been made.

MS and SONY just copies the same market strategy as Ninty did and they might just compete with Ninty's dominance. Thats why this E3 was crucial for Ninty to hold grip their userbase. Them being secretive proves it, for me this E3 was the deciding/definitive factor what console win the console war...
