LOL, FPSs are not just about aiming well. It is also about moving around the environment(Well, in a good game that is). WiiMote controls for moving around are just not that great. Yes, if I were to play duck-hunt on a dual analog that would be difficult. LOL.

What is better about moving on a dual analogue?

Lets see what movements do you need in an FPS.

forward and backward - obviously those can be on the control stick

turning left and right, and strafing - at the moment developers only seem to use the IR pointer for turning, which is slow and laborious, but what is wrong with the nunchuck? I personally would prefer turning to be on the control stick like Goldeneye, then strafing can be performed by tilting the nunchuck... but it could be customisable so you could have strafing on the stick and turning by tiliting.

The only other movement is looking up and down, but as that is rather rarely needed in FPS past 20-30 degree angles I think it would be fine to use the boundary box system.

So like I said, the only problem with movement at the moment is that developers have only seen fit to use the boundary box idea as the only method of turning around... but it doesn't have to be like that.

That is like saying that as soon as someone is on the screen of a player with a mouse they are dead. Just not the case. Movement(straffing in particular) is just as important as aiming. I canbe shooting someone within half a second of them coming on the screen in Halo 3(play Team Swat, you have to be able to) and I can move around incredibly well. What people should be doing is not forcing the FPS genre onto the WiiMote. There should be new genres defined for the controller. What is the use innovation if gameplay is not innovated?

^^Looking up and down is very important, especially if vehicles are involved, and levels are designed well.

Half a second is too long, someone with a Wiimote could kill you much faster than that when you're on their screen...

" What people should be doing is not forcing the FPS genre onto the WiiMote" -> "What people should be doing is not forcing the FPS genre onto dual analogs."

Doesn't fly. Old and new genres can, do, and will work on the Wii.

 LOL.

I thought we had already agreed that the Wiimote is undoubtedly better for aiming? Or was that one of those "LOL"s which actually means "sorry, I ran out of arguments"?

Or maybe this one.

Why are you posting videos of one of the worst FPSs available on the Wii?

Ok, we agree to disagree. No way of proving either way.

Well, yes, there is.  Eventually Wii (or another of the consoles if they get pointing functionality somehow) will have an FPS with both IR and classic controls, as well as online.  While playing, people with one of them will have an advantage over the other.

Judging by Medal of Honor Heroes 2's controls (there are gameplay videos on Gametrailers, since you seem so fond of it), the IR functionality will almost certainly give benefets to those using it.
